Recent pickup thread?

Just got back from Goodwill with some nice loot. It's not /vr/ aside from the PS1, but Rule of Rose was $3.

Where do you guys usually go to find games for cheap? I've been trying to start a collection of old games and I would love some tips

Lucky.

I've been going to thrift stores here in Mass and never find anything vidya related.

I only found a copy of Hogan's Valley and some worn out, gross DualShocks. Like ten stores between Winthrop and Worcester and that's it.

Doesn't help there are a few solid game stores that probably snatch anything up real quick.

I'm trying to collect all the rpg titles for ps1 and ps2. I go to flea markets and such once a week but pretty much all my super expensive ps1 titles came from posting in the BST thread on this board for great prices. Seriously, you troopers are a godsend.

still wrapped (but damaged) copy of Samba de Amigo- $3
the following for $30
2 N64s (one working one non working)
gray controller
Turok 2 (gray cart which I didn't know existed)
Mario 64
Mario kart 64 (can't get it to work)
Vigilante 8 second offense
Beetle adventure racing
Spider man
Jeremy mcgrath supercross 2000
blues brothers 2000
NBA showtime NBA on NBC

Want to do something interesting with the broken N64 since the case is chipped in a few places, well that is if I can get it working.

Doubly lucky. The Goodwills in my area have jackshit. Either the people out here who donate stuff to them have no taste in games, or are smart enough to not donate anything worth playing, or there's a lot of resellers that make the rounds on a regular basis. Just sports and movie games, if any games at all, whenever I go there.

I know it's not exactly /vr/, but is Rule of Rose even any good? It seems like it's only ever brought up in the context of being a fairly rare game.

>> No.1533590

"Good" is a bit of a stretch. While it is rare, the only reason I'd buy it is because it is so bizarre.

I have a thing for weird/unique games even if they're not that good.

It's a fairly mediocre horror game, with awful controls and a overly convoluted story.

But the cutscenes really stand out. Very dark, focusing on child cruelty in a post-war British orphanage.

There's a little girl in the bag
