Why didn't Nintendo do a compilation of the original 3 Mario games on the Nintendo 64 or the Gamecube? We got All Stars on the SNES, and then later again on the Wii, but it skipped the 5th and 6th generation.

Sega seemed pretty keen on giving us the original Sonic games with each new generation. We had Sonic Jam on the Saturn, and if the Dreamcast had lived longer, that probably would've been home to the Mega Collection.

The GBA got a whole bunch of Mario re-releases. I can't remember if Mario 1 got re-released, but the Super Mario Advance series covered SMB 2, 3, SMW 1 and 2. I think the original Mario Bros. arcade game was also included somewhere in there. I think they're all modified from the original version, not unlike Mario All-Stars.

What a missed opportunity. It would have been amazing if they had redrawn all of the graphics again and given us something along the lines of Wario Land: Shake It.
