in the last months, i have found some japanese sellers who use insane mark ups for certain games and what caught my attention is that they use dthe same spread tactic of VINTAGE RARE!

particulary, this guy

http://www.ebay.com/sch/Video-Games-Consoles-/1249/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_ssn=dennisjapan

Is it true that it's possible to change your location on Ebay as a seller and make it seem like you are from a country you dont reside?

that would explain this horse shit

Please no auto delete, i am not trying to troll nor set up a trap or anything, i have a legit issue

Sounds like typical whito piggu reseller trying to get rich by selling shit to folks back home.

If he can be undercut by actual japanese sellers, it won't catch on.

If he was sending stuff from his mother's house in Ohio, there'd be a postmark. Packages from japan are pretty distinctive, what with the moon runes and the customs paperwork.
At least some of his 1800+ feedback would mention that it arrived from a domestic location and his return address would have to be in Japan also.

In short, no. This just looks like another white guy living in japan and trying to make a little cash by exporting vidya he can find easily.

Had a look through his wares and most of it seems pretty reasonably priced, except cases like this particular game.

His pictures of the items are pretty appealing too. Just another reseller. If he's not offering it cheaper than other Japanese sellers, he won't get the business. Where's the damage?

oh how the mighty have fallen dennis muh boy used to be a legit seller. I bought Seiken Densetsu 3, commando, and a few others off him for like a buck each. What the fuck happened.

that most people would use the same speculation.

Actual Japanese sellers DO NOT use the VINTAGE RARE trickes, with only a few exceptions for games like Lickle (little Samsom) Wanpaku Gourmet (Panic Restaurant) and Snow Bros and well, Japanese mega Drive games (then again in japan MD flopped)

the only japanese sellers that i know and are decent people are:

Ichibiri
Yamatoku-Classic
japanyouwant
and of course hit-japan

but right now for example yamatoku-classic has run out of famicom and sfc stock (a month a go he was selling GUN NAC and JAPANESE PANIC RESTAURANT)

do they re-stock new stuff when it runs out or they do close?

Here's the stuf i bought on Ebay in teh last months, sure paying 7 USD for shipping (and some of dont have tracking can be a pain, but i dont live in the US, so i dont count shipping, and even then still better than BIN's prices.

not pictured anymore was a 3 set of the three Ranma SFC fighting games, which the set i won at 5 DOLLARS! (but because of miscommunication, i ended paying 18 USD for shipping EMS when it already had tracking, but the seller told me it didnt have it, crap.)

>see an auction up for 2 sfc games
>starting price is 1 cent, 0 bids so far, only a few hours left
>bid 1 cent, why not, remember seeing a thread on /vr/ recently about how resellers will pretend your item is broken and cancel the order if they don't like the outcome of an auction
>win the games for 1 cent
>mfw he actually ships them

I'm sure they can easily restock. The used game market in Japan is fucking huge because there was some law that didn't allow people to rent games so they would always just buy and sell them.

>>1504462
I'm not assuming that at all. I'm just saying older games in Japan are a lot easier to get a hold of because of the huge used game market which makes restocking easier. Of course there is still a limited supply but it's much larger than the US.

Question for this thread, do you think major retro games will continue going up in price or just increase with inflation? Honestly I don't think most games will ever cost more than they did when they came out. (accounting for inflation).

for your health - inflation since SNES era is about 1.5x, so major new released games then would cost like... 100-150$ nowadays.
