Is there a guide out there to avoid being jewed at flea markets for retro consoles? Went to a flea market yesterday and saw NES's for $60 and cartridges for $10-$20. I saw Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt for $7 when last I checked it was worth fitty cents.

That's pretty normal pricing.

>> No.1472481

that's a little high, not extremely high though. like a couple bucks

>> No.1472493

That's not the worst transaction I've ever heard.

Only you can decide how much is too much for retro vidya. I draw the line at 60 bucks for NES or SNES, and 5 bucks for cartirdges. I'd pay 15-20 bucks for the more sought after titles like DKC or Zelda.

maybe I was being the jew then lol. $60 just seemed a bit steep to me. is $18 for Dragon Warrior a fair deal?

I duno, you tell me OP http://videogames.pricecharting.com/game/nes/dragon-warrior

Also, you can buy a NES or SNES console for $40 if you look online. Don't support reseller scum who price above FMV. DKC and Zelda are probably worth around $20, but please don't pay $18 for DW.

>Dragon Warrior
>$18
you know the game was literally free when it came out, so i'd say no, it's not woth $18.

Yeah, I got one for 5 bucks years ago and I overpaid even back then.

You are a true friend anon. Glad I didn't support those cash-sucking jews.

I bought it from a professional reseller for $1. It even had the manual.

>hello sir, i feel as though your NES console and games are over-priced. would you kindly reduce the price for me?
i can't really do that, not on individual purchases [notwithstanding the possibility of them cutting you a deal if you purchase a bundle]
>but sir, i have this guide, which states fair prices for these items. according to this guide, your merchandise is overpriced
HOLY HOT BAGS OF DICK, IS THAT A GUIDE?! IS DAT SHIT PRINTED USING INK ON PAPER? WELL WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO, HERE LET ME DISCOUNT EVERYTHING BY UP TO 80%, I DIDN'T REALIZE I WAS DEALING WITH A PROFESSIONAL /VR/ POSTER

Not wanting to make fun of you OP, I'm just curious which benefit you hope to derive here. You would still have to seek out that one dealer with fair pricing, guide or no guide.

Also, why does everyone suppose that there exists an actual market price for used videogames and consoles, and that this price is effective nation-wide? Seems like the market is *way* too diffuse for any sort-of Kelly Blue Book equivalent. I mean, if every Craigslist seller and flea market vendor within a 50-mi radius of where you live sells X game for $40, and the lowest you can find the game on ebay is $40, then what's the basis for imagining that the game's true price is $15?

Remember when SMB/DH was considered the cheapest item in gaming and literally worth like 50 cents or less? Good times.

free shit like that is exactly why I subscribed to nintendo power & continued to resubscribe

That never happened.

I remember my local FuncoLand was offering $0.01 for SMB/DH. Those cartridges were everywhere.
