I wanted to make a thread about this game, because I was turned on to it by a thread a while ago.

Holy shit, these games are so good. Battlezone I and II are pretty much the definition of how to do FPS/RTS right. I wish I knew about this game when I was younger I would have been all over it.

Good news it that the most recent patches for both games make them completely compatible with modern systems, and I'm pretty sure that there's even online servers running for them right now too.

Let's talk about it, /vr/.

For Battlezone II, you'll have to find a torrent, and the patch is here http://www.matesfamily.org/bz2/

I remember playing BZ2 coop with a friend. We were playing all night because the AI was super aggressive and it took us a while to overcome their shit.
So we built up defenses for 2 hours. And we found something magical. There is no limit to how many defense turrets you can build.
We had been staying up that night gaming and general, and by the time it hit 6AM I was ready to crash. So we just let it run all night. By the time we woke up at ~12 the AI had only destroyed 3 or 4 turrets.

Fun game.
