I love that game but it's a pretty clunky port of an arcade game. I love it for its challenge, but a "god tier" game should be practically perfect. Of course, we all already know those games.

SMB2 is amazing. It actually upsets me that this was the only Mario game to actually deviate from the typical 'Mario' formula in nearly his entire 2D life. It's a lot of fun.

I recognize the GnG series as top-tier, but I just can't stand that style of gameplay where it's ASS HARD.on a sadistic level.

I beat all of them except for Super. I just didn't want to play anymore after getting repeatedly stuck in the 2nd loop.

If you're into those kinds of games, then it's fantastic. Personally, I doubt I'll ever play them again. It's just not my type of game.

You forgot about the Land games. I know those are GBC, but they're still unique Mario experiences.

I honestly kinda liked it better when I didn't know about the Lost Levels and it seemed like DDP was the "real" Mario 2. It felt like Zelda 2 in the "hey, we're willing to experiment!" kind of way.

Granted, I don't like Zelda 2 as much as I like Zelda 1, and I think DDP is as good as Mario 1, but that's another issue entirely.

Oh yeah. I wouldn't argue that SML1 is really much different, but 2 was quite a step off the beaten path, you're right. My bad.

And yeah, it is kind of like the Zelda 2 to Zelda 1 comparison, but it seems like many more people are willing to accept the change in SMB2 compared to the change in Zelda because in Zelda's case the change was a bit more drastic, but I digress.

What I dislike about Ghosts 'N Goblins is how random the game is. There's no logic behind the way the enemies spawn and most of the time there's moments where the enemy spawning has made surviving impossible.

It really set the bar for every NES game I played after it that only the first Zelda and Mario Bros 3 could meet.

Haven't finished it yet, but for me i is preety awesome.

>control a fucking dragon and a mouse
>each charachter has its flaws and advantages
>individual health system
>levels force you to use all of the party, so you'll have to watch all of their hp gauges
It's only flaw is the ost which isn't too good,it's too repetitive. I plan beating it when my new controller arrives.

Do any of you remember that one game where you were this bronze coloured knight in armor, it was a sidescroller and first level was forest with wolves and shit, second level was in the village with zombies and other undead looking monsters and you could rain down lightning with powerups, morph into wizard and shit. Samurai Flamenco. It is really interesting and full of plot twists. It starts as kick-ass in japan, with their own kind of super heroes, sentais. Then You'll have to SIT DOWN and watch.
