Love the Black and White series. Never beat the original, I made it to the last island as a kid but fucking Nemesis destroyed my shit with ease. Never tried again.

Creature Island was a huge letdown.

Black and White 2 is my absolute favorite. The military RTS aspects feel perfectly natural and do great to balance the good vs evil playstyles. I've played B&W2 from start to finish more than a dozen times. I can speedrun the Viking island and first Japanese island in less than 10 minutes each.

Black and White 2: Battle of the Gods introduced a much-needed difficulty spike, and patched a few minor flaws, but was too damn short with only 3 playable levels.

B&W2 has more city building and doesn't force you to focus on physically destroying your enemies. But I felt it was a little TOO easy to coerce people to join your empire. I just kinda kept building til I liked my city and suddenly I won...

They're both great. Both have their drawbacks. I never liked BW1's way of forcing you to solve a puzzle to complete a realm...
