I just found a blank cd lying around. What PSX game should I put on it?

This can also be a must-play thread, the last one 404'ed before I could check it out properly

Tell me how to do this please?
Do I need a chipped PS1/2?

last time I did it with the swap trick:
>underneath the lid by the right hinge there's a sensor. tape it down
>put it a legit ps1 game
>let it spin, watch for it to speed up (about double the initial speed), then when it slows down afterwards, quickly swap it for the burned game
>burned game should speed up right away, whn it slows down, swap back
>as soon as PS1 splash screen goes away, swap burned disc in immediately
and you're done

I don't know, anon. what games do you enjoy?

I recently played Saiyuki: Journey West which seems to be a great game similar gameplay-wise to FFT or Tactics Ogre. I never saw it posted here so I thought why not.

I don't know if it's based on the manga or anime. probably not but same myth about a young monk going on a journey.

I'm nervous to try this. What's the likelihood of fucking up the motor?

>> No.1433753

>>1433749
if you're heavy handed you'll probably fuck it up after a while, but if you're careful you should be fine. My friend did this for years as a kid and his motor still works fine

Thanks for the advice. You happen to know if it's true that certain discs can fuck up the laser?

Tomba 2 holds a special place in my heart. I think I'm going to try this swap trick again.

Does it work with PS2 slim? It still has the hinge-open tray and I thought PS2's actually ran hardware for PS1 games since emulating wasn't really a thing then...

But I know nothing on this.

I think my sister in law has my PS1

does burning .img files work, or do they need to be .iso?

>> No.1433875

>>1433864

yes just drag and drop the .img or .iso to the CD and hit burn

thanks, do I need to include the .sub and .ccd files as well, or just the .img?

>> No.1435794

>>1433880
there are guides for that on the internet. Also, a lot of games don't come packed like that. sometimes you have to unecm them first with a program like Pakk-Iso to create an image file
