I beat Super Macho Man legitimately. Did a run from the start, won with a 13-1 record.

I also beat Mike Tyson...but rather than starting from my password right before Super Macho Man, I used the code to go straight to Mike later on.

...Does this count as beating the game? I mean, there's no way to get that Mike Tyson code legitimately, is there? It's never shown in the game.

...Are you saying the only way to beat Mike Tyson's Punch-Out is to go through the whole game and then beat Mike Tyson at the end and if you lose against him you have to start completely over? Then that's bullshit.
