It's fucking impossible to A-Rank all stages in Sonic Adventure 2.
Why did they do it in such a retarded way?

git gud = ur mother gets fucked my me

>> No.1384465

You had to be born before the 90's.

>> No.1384471

For the most part the hardest stages to A rank can be easily A ranked by collecting all rings.

Metal harbor is one.

>> No.1384475

>>1384471
Metal Harbor has that bullshit hidden ring that you have to bounce up to get to, right?

It's been a while but that sounds right.

Thus, the "necrophiliac" part.

Seriously though OP I did it, I even have my VMU with 100% save somewhere.
Had trouble with chao races and final level.

A Rank is just based on score. Play the level fast enough, without taking a hit, and 100 rings or so while being quick will net you what you need. Killing enemies is also a great score lifter.

In Mech stages, just make sure you string your lock on, as high as possible.

Emeralds are easy as fuck. You just have to learn the hints. All other extra missions and Hardmode challanges are cakewalks.

The hardest part is making sure you do not lose your rings. Like Ever.

>> No.1385343

If you can get online with your Dreamcast, you can download save files. That's what I did back in the day.

>> No.1385354

>>1385343

Yeah, because that's the fucking point to get A-Ranks by downloading someone else's A-Ranked save file.

Fucking retard, hope you die.

I've never played the 3D Green Hill Zone because I decided the chao emblems weren't worth the effort.

>> No.1385528

This. Took forever but I got there as a kid. Basically comes down to learning patterns and exploiting them. Especially for the emerald stages.

If you can't pinpoint its location in one hint, you already screwed up. Learn 'em, race to 'em, get dem A ranks.

Didn't give a fuck. It's neat that it was so easy to do on the Dreamcast back then. I likely ought to go through that game again and do it for realz, though

Wait, is this really a thing people think is hard? I did this when I was a kid, and while it was time consuming, I didn't think it was by any means hard.

Some of the harder levels took a few tries, but nothing was rage inducing.

My sister managed it when she was 13 just by playing the hell out of the game.

To be completely fair, a few of them are a real pain in the ass. I never want to do those cursed kart tracks ever again while avoiding the walls.

100000 points in Cosmic Wall on Very Hard was a fucking pain in the ass.

>> No.1386213

Most speedruns don't take anywhere near 12 hours. It's safe to say 12 hours includes the chao emblems.

>> No.1386221

>>1386209
Nah there's a sequence of stationary enemies that if you kill them you get a ton of points. When I found that out it became very easy.

I 100% the game when I was young(like 16 or so) but it took me over a hundred hours. The bonus level was cool but probably not worth it.

>> No.1386230

>>1386221
Agreed. Green Hill Zone is pretty cool, but if you're pouring that many hours into the game, I hope you enjoy other aspects.

It's something to do while you raise super hybrid chao, for example.

collect rings. Combo hard in the mech levels. Knuckles and Rouge are all luck but most there are a lot of spots where the shards tend to spawn more than others. Try to memorize where shit tends to appear.

I just remember being stuck trying to get an "A" on Cosmic Wall for a while. Most of the Sonic and Shadow levels you could get by with just collecting every ring in sight.

You can get more rings than were originally placed in the level by sequence breaking.

>> No.1388716

It's real fuckin hard, I played the shit out of that game and never got them all. I even went back the other day as an adult to try (armed with some tips from the Internet) but couldn't quite do it.

>> No.1388724

I've gotten some A-Ranks but not everywhere.

I just downloaded saves to get by.

I was dead set on getting GHZ, until I realized I couldn't just get all medals, I had to A rank them.

Fuck, i was 75% or so there. At least hard mode was fun for Sanic/Shadow.

>> No.1390079

Why would you want to spend time perfecting your performance on stages that aren't enjoy able to play in the first place? Even as a kid the only stages I ever replayed were the speed levels.
