What's /vr/s opinion on Shadowrun for Snes?

>> No.1379112

OP here:

Just beat Shadowrun and didn't really need guides until the end parts. It was rather grindy for my tastes. The game also took me a bit to beat, although I skipped many days playing it. It was an okay game.

>> No.1379320

I like it.

Way too grindy though.

>> No.1379681

I'm playing it right now. I'm up to the Drake building and so far the only time I needed to grind was when I got brought to that junkyard place. I'm thinking of hiring Steelflight for the Drake building, but so far I've been able to get through everything in it by just turning Kitsune invisible and spamming Summon Spirit.

Can I cut a deal with a dragon in that game?

Pretty decent game, but it gets really repetitive the later you go on.

>> No.1380449

Genesis one's better, all things considered.

>> No.1380480

Never played it through. Tried it a few times though. What to do after you have seen the dog ghost at the harbor?

>> No.1380731

It's an okay adventure game. The combat is clunky, the grinding is short when done right, but tedious. The cyberspace is rare and weak.
The music is great, the atmosphere is good. The story isn't anything special? It's not an amazing game, but it's a decent enough SNES title. I own it myself and it carries a degree of nostalgia for me and It's one of the few games that sells the dystopian motif well so I'll always keep the cartridge.

>> No.1380740

Fucking loved it as a kid and beat it at least twice.

Nowadays? It's pretty dated.

I actually prefer the Genesis Shadowrun because it's more "open world". Also random matrix runs.

>> No.1380789

No opinion yet, but I have it ready to go after I beat F-Zero and Star Fox. I'm looking forward to it myself.

It is one of my favorite RPG's (I barely like any) on the system. Bonus points for having an official SWEDISH translation, making it possibly the only SNES game to be sold in Swedish. The German translation is good too

If you are playing it on an emulator, there is a pro action replay code that lets you keep the karma you earn, you could literally just grind up to 20 karma and max all your stats for the rest of the game. It only works in the US rom, though. I found out when I played it on German and Swedish, it crashes the game if you try to load a save state from the US version with all the karma you earned on it and the codes will not work at all

>> No.1380886

I rented it as a kid and spent forever walking around and having zero idea where to go and never finding the house to save

Tried playing it a few weeks back, found the save house, spent forever walking around and not making any progress and not having any fun

Oh well

Both the Genesis and SNES Shadowrun games are fantastic albeit completely different.

I wish there was a translation for the Mega CD one.

>Shadowrun for Snes?

One of the best SNES games ever and maybe my favorite isometric RPG of all time.

Genesis is fantastic too but a completely different game, more like Syndicate.

You can make your own codes for euro versions. Just do a scan and keep it as you raise some karma then freeze it and bump your stats.

>it crashes the game if you try to load a save state from the US version with all the karma you earned on.

Did you try the cheat on those versions or did you try to load a US save to a euro game? The save data might not be the same.

>>1381321
I tried to use the codes but they didn't work in the Euro versions. I tried loading a save state from US version with the stats already raised as it was the only version I could make the codes run, but it crashed the game

Which euro version did you want to use it in?

It's a flawed classic. The atmosphere and presentation are top-notch by SNES standards, but the gameplay itself could have used some tweaking. That said, it's still one of my all-time favorite SNES games.

The Swedish and the German version

I'd suggest the hidden debug room but it gives you magic and boatloads of money not just karma.

The cheat mechanics is strange. It seems to keep a maximum count so you have to raise up enough karma and then update it. I don't know if it's snes9x or the game that won't let it set to a maximum number. I know snes9x doesn't have a proper lock function though. I'll have to see if I can fuck with it externally.

I picked up the beretta and the skin jacket hahaha. You swedes. I didn't talk to the dog. I might have picked up the torn note. Obviously, I picked up the key in the other apartment. That's all I did. Otherwise, go to the morgue and feel free to run around like you just started the game.
