So I just bought a Dreamcast off Ebay and wish to burn my games? Any exact method to this or is it quite basic?

Also what are some of the essentials for the console?

I can't help with the copying, but one thing to be aware of is that some games won't fit on a standard CD and have things cut or downgraded to fit on them.

Look up a how-to wiki. You need a program called Disc Juggler and I think it needs to be CD-R
The games compress while burning so don't worry about that extra file size.
Also, Make sure its the right model.

bump for my own interest

most images were Self-Boot.
that means burning them with Disc Juggler was enough to play them.

for just a few without selfboot you had to make them self-boot or insert the Utopia Boot CD in and then swap to the game.

Disc Juggler is pretty basic. it looks complicated at first but it isn't very different from Nero Burning Rom

yeah fuck disk juggler. All you need to burn .CDI images with imgburn is pfctoc.dll placed in your imgburn install directory. Here, I'll even upload it for you. Enjoy:

Were you the nigga who outbid me on the Dreamcast that came with like four controllers, a bunch of demo disks, Sonic Adventure 2, and Skies of Arcadia?

Burn at the slowest speed you can stand.

Speaking of CD rips, there was a guy on Snesorama.us that was apparently an expert on ripping and stuff.
There's a torrent of all of his releases on that board as well.

An essential for me would be Rez. That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head, though.

Just use nullDC.

DCs are pretty damn cheap nowdays, and emulation on about 6th generation consoles and newer isn't exactly the greatest.

Dreancast emulation is still shit. No thanks.

>> No.1369470

Just use Alcohol 120%. It works fine for me and I've burned pretty much every dc game I have any interest in.

Also, some games are slightly larger than what a standard CD holds. Sometimes you can find compressed versions of these iso's which will fit, but you may experience a bit of fuckedupdness when playing as a result. The best thing to do is buy some high capacity CD's. I was able to find some at Radio Shack.
