Any of you guys play this SNES game? I've put in about 4 hours or so to date and I'm starting to really enjoy it. Music is probably my favorite. I appreciate the quirkyness of the dialogue, although I feel like it's probably going to wear out its welcome soon. Combat is nothing to write home about (so far anyways).

Playing the translated ROM because I don't know how to moonspeak.

Ridiculously high encounter rate.

Played it summer last year. I enjoyed the fuck out of it all the way through. The music is definitely a strong point of the game, but unfortunately I couldn't get too deep into the battle system because a lot of it would cause the game to crash because of the awful patch.

Planning on playing it again after I finish Final Fantasy V.

It's really not that bad. Play Arabian Nights and then you will understand what a ridiculously high encounter rate feels like.

So is the overworld in that title image fully traversable? Because that looks sexy as hell.

Didn't those guys also make Virtual Lab for the Virtual Boy?

Yep, that's them. Never played Virtual Lab, any good?

Do I need to be careful at any particular spot to avoid crashing? Is it playable to the end?

Yes and yes. The newspaper cutscenes. The patch somehow messes up its programming in a way that, when you're going through it, at a certain point while skimming through the text, it crashes. I'd advise saving often as you can, and when that happens, use the original Japanese rom to progress through the newspaper cutscene whilst using the same save file as the translated rom's. Right after that cutscene, try to save as early as you can, then you can resume with the translated rom.

I heard from somewhere that it's actually the text's speed fault for crashing the game and you just need to keep it slow or medium. But I haven't tested that yet.

Definitely playable to the end.

I never really kept tabs or tried to replicate the crashes when I played through it, but I got crashes when I tried to revive a party member in battle as well as when I tried to use Daichi's (Guy with the long brown hair) special ability but I also had a crash or two randomly throughout.

Also there's text wrapping issues that'll cause some graphical issues, but nothing detrimental.
