Does anyone remember this gem?
Anyone still playing online with ProjectMagma?

>> No.1322701

I remember buying it (pirated) when I was around 14~15 and played a bit, but didn't understand much English back then and didn't have internets or the manual so I didn't know how to play it very well...

How has it aged? What are some suggestions to fully take advantage of the game?

I do remember liking the mechanics and the graphics, but that's all.

What a coincidence op. I was just about to make a thread, mind if I hijack yours? Here's the pasta for the marvellous game.

Myth 2: Soulblighter

>What is it?
Real time tactics game and the sequel to Myth: The Fallen Lords. Developed and released by Bungie (when it was good) in 1998. The game is still being constantly updated and played with the latest patch released a few months back.

>But the graphics look like shit
Don't let that put you off, gameplay is incredibly balanced and the detailed physics and gore engine allows for plenty of explosive, dismembering fun. Multiplayer is incredibly addicting too and it will run on just about any toaster. Warning: not for casuals

>So how does it play out?
Plenty of multiplayer game modes including king of the hill, capture the flag, free for all and lots more. Up to 16 players in every game each with an army of their own which they can customize from a selection of units.

>How's the single player?
Continues the story of Myth 1 (the campaign of which can easily be imported into Myth 2), the game spans 25 levels in which you are given a pre determined amount of units with often seemingly impossible objectives to complete. Great story with some interesting narration too. Also lots of opportunity to git gud

Any future updates along with mappacks, total conversions and multiplayer maps along with single player campaigns can be found here. I highly advise checking it out because so many contributions are incredibly well done. Some conversions include Sengoku Japan, Wild West, WW2, Vietnam War and some others I haven't had the chance to try but look promising

Yeah. If you uninstalled it, the game went ahead and deleted everything else on your hard drive, too. They found this out before the game was released, literally by a few days. They had to recall the entire shipment and reprint a new batch.

Because of this, Bungie made no profit from the game and the financial setback was so lasting that it was one of the reasons they agreed to be bought out a few years down the road.

First of all, there are no download links on the OP.
Second of all, no one but you complained about it, so the problem must be on your end.
Third of all, it doesn't take a fucking three digit IQ to search the game on a certain bay used by pirates.

Oh I'm sorry, maybe I should've used the other common terminology "the pasta".

I'm sure nobody else complained because it's a waste of time pointing out flaws to the morons that can't even make a proper general.

With 5 & 8 seeders, people would have more luck sticking their hands up a cows ass in search of this game than rely on tpb.

Continue on though cunt, not like this games community can get any more dead.

I love Soulblighter but to me The Fallen Lords moves slightly ahead of it for the better scenario. In The Fallen Lords it really seems like you are utterly boned as every city in the world falls and most of the legion is put on a suicide mission. Even after you chop of the guy's head you aren't finished.

While Soulblighter had some great new enemies and soldiers it never felt as menacing since you keep getting stronger by doing things like turning the Journeymen into awesome dual wielding ass kickers and getting the Trow. I think this was by design and that replicating the feeling of the first would have been all but impossible but I still preferred the original more.

>> No.1354367

It's because Myth 2 is really dealing with the fallout of things from the first game. After all, Soulblighter wasn't Balor. What did you think about Myth 3?

Never played it and don't plan to. The first two Myth games are probably my favorite of all time and I've never had the desire to play the third since I heard it was being made by a different developer. The fact that I only hear nothing but negative things about it now makes me think I made the right decision.

The story turns me off even more because different people wrote it and it assuredly doesn't match up with what the original team's ideas were. I don't care about the franchise because of the name and I think too many people get excited about sequels without looking at who is behind it. It's like those Patterson books written by all different authors.

Anyway here it is, if anyone wants to test to see if it works that would be great

In my opinion story is the best part of Myth 3, if only because everything else is so clunky and broken. It makes use of the GURPS roleplaying setting book release and doesn't rape the lore like so many were afraid at the time.

I remember having a little trouble with the portcullis dwarf mission. The trick to that is to get a few warriors to divert the fire of the bowmen while your dwarf blows up the mechanism, make sure your dwarf is far away enough to make the shot but close enough to the enemy bowmen so that they won't be able to fire and will need to move away to get a shot at your dorf, then you position your dwarf and blow them to bits. Put a charge in the way of incoming warriors as well
