cool obscure japanese only releases

>> No.1322263

I've been on an "cool obscure japanese only releases" kick lately and I've noticed that a lot of them were made by Banpresto.

Much better than the shitheaps on the NES.

Ah man, I remember the anime of that from when it aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. Iria: Zeiram the Animation. That shit was awesome. I wonder if the game is any good.

It's like Super Metroid with double jumps instead of running and guns instead of beams.

Holy Fuck Iria has a game! Gonna play this soon

Super Gussun Oyoyo and its sequel. It's a puzzle game where you have to guide this little dude to the exit by stacking tetris blocks.

Also by Banpresto.

Edo no Kiba is a really cool automatic scrolling action game. You play a cybernetic ninja character, similar to Hagane in a cyberpunk looking Tokyo. Worth checking out.

That sounds awesome.

I like Zeiram. The live-action movies are good too.

Banpresto made such awesome anime-based games in the 90's. Has anyone here played this gem? It's based on a manga by Akira Toriyama.

Not really that obscure considering it had multitple versions and ports. But this is the only one that is translated. Emerald Dragon.

Only on emulator. I thought this was the awesome mode of Trunks. I'd rather Ackman be Vegeta's son. Solid platformer though.

Wow, i think that's the game i was going to ask about. Are there other games like this? I remember auto-scrolling and robots, but i was like 7 when i saw it.

"ufo - a day in the life" on the PS1 seems cool but I can't read shit.

also, Mizzura Falls is supposed to be a great detective simulation but untranslated. shit sucks.

DoReMi Fantasy

Really, really fun platformer released late in the Super Famicom's lifespan.

It's actually a sequel to Milon's Secret Castle, but it plays like a more conventional platformer.

It's on the Virtual Console too.
