I always check consoles for games when I stop into goodwill. one day I found a copy off mario party 6 or 7, can't remember, in a GameCube. got the console, no cords or controllers, the gameboy advanced player attached to the bottom, and the hidden mario party for $5. although recently they've seemed to jack up their prices because last time I went they had an original PlayStation marked $40 and it didn't have any cords or controllers. I think they're catching onto the retro craze going on.

The last store I've gone to had all the recent 360 and PS3 games behind glass whilst the PS2 games were out for you to browse through and pick up yourself.

It's a video game no-mans land between retro and new that your casual seller/consumer doesn't really care for nor see large profit in. Like in the late nineties picking up boxed Megadrive/Genesis and Snes games for 5-10 bucks each.

Also worth noting that some games, like Tales of Eternia/Destiny II (my copy, any ways), seem to have something printed on the casing itself that people might be sticklers for (in this case, there's a big "3 CD" thing printed/painted on the middle thing the multi-disc PS1 casing has).

99% of the time you can get a jewel case that nobody would be able to distinguish from the original if they didn't know it had been replaced. The REAL pain in the ass comes from when you need to replace a 2+ disc jewel case. What I usually do in that case is find a 2+ disc game that I don't care about (like a green label FFVIII or Chrono Cross for instance) and use that jewel case as a replacement.

Well I have a somewhat similar story. 2 days after Christmas I decide to order me a copy of Star Ocean: Second Story off Amazon. I pay a bit of money to get it complete with case and manual. So I wait and I wait, because the ass decided to use some obscure private mail service and finally it arrives yesterday. Well I guess I shouldn't say it actually arrived because it didn't. No instead the idiot sent me the Strategy Guide to Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

I sent this asshole a support ticket for a refund but he checks his e-mails twice a week, and Monday ain't one of em. So looks like I'll be waiting.

Bear in mind too that I had never played it before so I knew not that it was 2 disc in the first place, and among all the excitement I couldn't have possibly seen the text on the binding that said "2 disc" on it.

Didn't have to replace the case for one of my PS1 games, but I was thinking about it (eventually just settled for taking it apart and cleaning it piece by piece). Didn't feel like buying a different multi-disc game though just for it's case, as where I live, even the cheap ones are still a bit pricy (again, if you're just buying for the case). At least it's easier than trying to replace, say, a multi-disc Gamecube case from what I've seen, since most of those games that used those are pretty damn expensive.

Speaking of that PS1 case.
