Hi /vr/!
Could you recommend me some good, but not well known JRPGs (PAL/NTSC-U)?

Terranigma

Azure Dreams?

>> No.1299967

Lufia 2

>> No.1299970

If you've never played Sailor Moon R: Another Story on the SNES I highly recommend it. It's fun as hell.

(27-year-old dude here.)

>PAL/NTSC-U
What exactly do you mean with that?

>> No.1299972

>>1299969
the regions. ntsc is america pal is europe

>> No.1299978

>>1299972
Are you buying actual carts and discs or will fan translated RPGs do?

>> No.1299980

>>1299969
How clueless can one be.... are we getting raided or something?

>> No.1299983

>>1299972
But what do they mean in this context? Games that received official and not fan translations? What about computer games?

>> No.1299986

>>1299960
This times a million.
One of the greatest games that has ever been recommended to me just recently. I was about to come in here and even post Terranigma.

>> No.1299989

>>1299980
Yes, some guy asking a question means we are being "raided". Fuck off, dude.

>>1299978
Also this. Most of my suggestions are going to be fan translations. Also, what do you consider "not well known", OP? Because I'd recommend something like Parasite Eve or Threads of Fate, neither of which are not unknown games, but both of which got significantly less attention than FF games.

>>1299980
I know what video formats are, they just made no sense in context.

I've been seeing a ton of extraordinarily retarded posts today son, take a fucking chill pill. jesus

Obviously it means he doesn't want full jap games...

>> No.1299997

>>1299992
I'll apologize, but asking if we're getting raided makes it sound like you're accusing posters of being /b/ kiddies trying to shit up the board when it could have just been an innocent question.

There are less confusing ways to convey that.

>> No.1300018

We really need to save every "recommend me some retro JRPGs" thread. There's one every three days.

>> No.1300035

>>1300018
More like three every day.

Chaos Seed (1996):
http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/chaosseed/chaosseed.htm

Word is that a complete translation of the SNES version is coming out soon.

>> No.1300560

>>1300309
Man, fuck you for posting that beautiful screenshot and then telling me that there's no English version yet.

>> No.1300563

>>1300560
It went into beta testing in October.

In the meantime, you can play the game with limited knowledge of Japanese using the guide over at Hardcore Gaming 101. I played through a scenario using that.

>> No.1300574

Legend of the dragoon, Xenogears also >>1299960

>> No.1300576

Since everyone I know played Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger on the SNES.

Is Illusion of Gaia and Secret of Evermore well known? I would say those 2

>>1300574
Legend of Dragoon as well.

>> No.1301435

>>1300309
I'm playing this now and this game has the most obnoxiously long mandatory tutorial I've ever encountered in a SNES game.
