I will agree that for the completionist it is by far the most tedious (Largely because it's physically impossible to get absolutely everything in that game because of time constraints), but unless you're aiming to get everything you can, I don't see how it's tedious in and of itself.

VIII was the first one I played, but IX was the one that really, really drew me in as a kid.
