The worst thing is it's a mode 13h DOS game, which was always line doubled so you didn't get scanlines like that on the original hardware.

Much better. Even got the aspect ratio right.

I made a slightly exaggerated example of mode13h scanlines so people can see how they are supposed to look. Cropped image because there's no way to fit the whole thing on any common monitor and still have the scanlines visible.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he posted some progress of his first playthrough some months ago.

Lands of Lore is probably my favorite game, but I've done everything in it and beat it every way possible... now I can't find motivation to play it again... I even managed to find some stuff that was removed from the game before release some times ago.

There's the obvious ones like all the hidden chests in Cimmeria, but the coolest one that I found was the original entrance for the dungeon. I was always curious about a certain place in the northeast of the dungeon where you would walk and hear something open, yet nothing to be found anywhere. Turns out that behind the wall is some staircases that lead back to Yvel Woods, behind the broken bridge. I thought that was pretty neat. If they originally intended you to enter Cimmeria that way, the game would've been a lot shorter though.

These are the games I currently have installed in my Lenovo laptop with FreeDOS 1.1 as the OS.

One thing I MUST say is that they run better on FreeDOS than on DOSBox since it's being run off of dedicated hardware.

Shit, I wish I had known that a few months ago. I was in Cimmeria and had to get one of the statues or whatever to complete the game, but I couldn't because it was behind a door that you had to pick a lock to get through and my rogue skill was too low with everyone in my party, and I had no ranged weapons or access to any range weapons. If I had gone back out to Yvel I could have gotten a bow and grinded the skill up to beat the game... I rageuninstalled instead, and have no real intention of going back because the game, well, wasn't really my bag.

I played it on Mega Drive. Great game, and you can add variety to it if you choose to approach each mission in different ways. You could go in guns blazing with all four agents and just kill everyone in sight, or you could choose a more stealthy approach or you could even use the persuadotron to gather up massive crowds around you and try to use them as a shield. Also, it was great to watch your agents get stronger and I kinda grew attached to them and tried to not lose any of them in combat. And the global strategy elements were quite good too, even though they were strictly rudimentary.

I know that feel, bro. The recent Tomb Raider have just been so fucking terrible.

It's not even the "Lara is a small tit crybaby" thing that bothers me, the young Lara lost in an Island would have been the perfect pretext for a splendid game about raiding tombs in a huge environment, but nope. QTEs, cut scenes, more QTEs, walking on a linear level for 30 seconds to get to the next cut scene, etc.

And the worst thing is, it sold, so they're probably gonna keep it in that direction. Fuck them.
