Now that I've beat this game for the first time, let's have a Castlevania thread.

Holy Water OP. It was a cool game, but I think I'm more of a post-SotN guy. My favorite game is not retro.

Play castlevania 1 on the nes. If you want more of the same try 3 and rondo of blood. If you don't like it try Symphony of the night or Aria of Sorrow. If you don't like those either Castlevania is not for you.

I don't understand how being able to use the whip in 8 directions is bad.

The game is giving you 2 options, you can either use only the whip, or the whip and the sub weapons. Do what you enojoy more.

Hey /vr/, /v/irgin here. I currently have Castlevania I, II, III, IV, Bloodlines, Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow, and Dracula X Chronicles. Are there any I'm really missing out on?

I love Castlevania 1. One of my favorite games period. Still, it and the Metroidvanias are really nothing alike, so I understand why you may not be crazy about CV1. You should still give 3, 4, and Rondo a try, though. They're all good.

I don't mind SoTN like the music is really good, the graphics are nice and exploring the castle is pretty fun. I just don't like it as much as the old games because its way too easy. The only times I die are when I'm trying stupid shit like running through looking for secrets or other silly stuff like that
