How can I play the original worms game across the net? (with a friend) I tried running it in dosbox but it doesn't have any LAN play or anything. I thought it did.. it's a hotseat game too

Read both of these pages. DOS Worms supports IPX netplay, not UDP or TCP/IP, so you'll have to enable IPX in DOSBOX on all the PCs that have it. You'll also have to configure port forwarding properly since you're doing it over the Internet.
