Why didn't Capcom make more Rival Schools games?

It could have been their very own KoF.

Just wasn't that popular. I would have killed for another RS game, but these days I think it's best the series stays dead.

It didn't catch on the way Capcom had hoped it would. They really tried to get it to take off, they even included Sakura from Street Fighter and it still kinda fell flat.

I had the first one on ps and I got it a few months after launch for $20 so I assume it wasn't popular in the west either.

I was waiting forever for a Project Justice PS2 release after the Dreamcast died.

The director recently said he wants to make a 3rd Project Justice/Rival Schools but of course he would some how have to get Capcom to agree to it.

Ono's been saying the same thing about Darkstalkers for years, with no signs of any progress. And it's a more successful IP than Rival Schools.

They should add customization options for the characters like Tekken or even a create a character like Soul Calibur and fully translate the school sim otherwise it's just another fighting game.
