Have you formed an opinion about the PSIO now that RetroJunkie reviewed the prototype?

>> No.1267805

>>1267798
Retrojunkie is a real bro, but the playstation has maybe one exclusive that I can't play in any other way, plus it has the shittiest gamepad ever.

OK, now that's a valid point.

>>1267808
>the playstation has maybe one exclusive
>THAT I CAN'T PLAY ANY OTHER WAY

as in, it was not released on anything else, it is unemulated, and it is also very expensive to buy.
Not sure if "unemulated" is still true though.

... I'm talking about Misadventures of Tron Bonne of course.

If you want to emulate then there's no reason for you to buy items like this or flash carts and there's no reason for you to be in this thread.

Items like this are for people who want perfect accuracy and authenticity.

All main PS1 emulators can emulate that now.

>> No.1268028

Got a real Playstation with a parallel port. I want a PSIO so bad.

>> No.1268113

>>1267887
I haven't seen any prices listed anywhere, so most likely even the devs don't yet know.

>>1267974
The PSX parallel port is actually pretty fast, around 2-3 Mbs per second, which makes it much faster than the CD drive, which only reads about half a Mbs per second. With proper coding, there will not be any lag like what you see with the Dreamcast serial port loaders.

My first impression of the PSIO is very positive. I have an old Playstation that I'd like to be able to revive. Let's hope that PSIO matures into a real product.

>> No.1268218

>>1267974
The PIO port has a bandwidth capacity in excess of 3 MB/s. The CD drive can read at around 350 KB/s.

Load times would be similar to playing on a PS2 with fast CD reading enabled.

The USB port was unnecessary. It felt tacked on if only to save them time and/or convince people that the project is really happening.

I've heard so many questionable things about the handling of this project I just want chips in hand.

I have an OG Model 1 original Everdrive MD because I was afraid that the project would stop as is. Yes my model has limited capability but it was worth it to make sure I got one.

What am I doing wrong? I have the iso, the latest epsxe, have tried various video fixes, what exactly do I need to do to play this game?

I used to own it when I was younger, kicking myself for not having it any more because it was my favorite ps1 game.

I'm not the guy from earlier by the way, just someone who has been desperately trying to play tron bonne and apparently cannot into ps emulation.
