I play Super Smash Bros. with a friend of mine 1 or 2 times a week. So far not getting bored, its actually painfull to watch sometimes what kind of hits the characters endure or how they fly of the stage. The audience is also amazing how they cheer.

Me and my closest friends live pretty far away from each other nowadays, but the games that we loved the most we can still find time to play over the internet: Diablo and Red Alert 2.

Melee's the big one for me. Then Mario Party 2. We actually play all MPs and other various "casual/lighthearted" games because it's a lot of fun to screw around with buddies doing things you wouldn't normally enjoy alone. Some games are just made for this sort of thing. I think this is where modern games truly shine.

I once rented Mario Golf on the N64 when I was a kid. Might be the only game my whole family loved. To a point where once a month or so my mom rented it and we spent the whole weekend playing the hell out of it. My sisters and mom never got into gaming but they loved it. Now with friends I don't really play games with them. We play Smash Bros. sometimes but more times then not we play single player games and take turns handing the controller over.

I don't have friends anymore, so I play mostly older systems and not the current or last gen as much because I can't into online multiplayer so I play older games to remind me when I had friends to play multiplayer and replay old RPGs because that's the closest feel I have to having friends. I lurk this board way too often to remind me why I love video games in the first place as Xbox 360 and PS3 never worked for me. I still love Nintendo though, but they are their own thing.

Back before my friends graduated, basically Mario Partys 1 and 2. We would usually make a drinking game out of it. My friend had a tower hooked up to his tv and we had every game known to man.

Most of my friends like to play a variety of games not just one. Even the FPS losers play more than one.
The Super Smashes are popular, so are the Mario Karts. Every decent fighting game ever made. Worms, Toy Commander, Archon, Joust, Combat, Warlords. I'm sure I'm missing a few. Hate to admit it but also LBP.
I actually sort my game by number of players so when friends come over we don't have to dig through single player stuff.

Though we all live at least an hour away, getting together is amazingly fun. The usual game is Brawl but it extends to Mario Party 2 or 3. Which I usually abstain from. Because I fucking hate Mario Party.
