Unfortunately I can't find any new screens to replace this one.

My dad picked it up from a Best Buy warehouse after a forklift ran into the back of it in 2000. He had it repaired and used it for several years for watching football.

The picture quality is fantastic, I think it's 53".

That's a cute little bedroom nook you got there and nicely organized. I also like your Phantasy Star IV. Does that Model 1 Sega CD work? I replaced the fuse in my old one but the caps gave out so I've been using my X'Eye.

You should get a big windowsill for that window and put your nightstand stuff on that and you'd have practically no wasted space for your /vr/.

I want to say yes but really I don't know anymore. It hasn't been fired up in over a year because someone stole my power adapter to it and I don't have a spare. So no way to test it, and I just haven't gotten around to buying a new adapter.

Yeah don't use some kind of wonky power supply that's how I fucked mine up to start with. Even my X'Eye started working much more reliably when I exactly matched the voltage of its factory poser supply. I can kind of see why they went to internal power supplies on Saturn.

>> No.1258867

>>1258859
Yeah I have a ton a power bricks but none of them match match either the voltage needed and even then I would rather just go to amazon or the local shop and pay a few bucks for its actual power supply.

And yeah I need a Saturn. Last one I had didn't have a power button so it was a bitch getting it on.

Yeah I have a Gamecube thats power button is so heinously gunked up I just leave it on at all times. I have three others so I didn't even bother taking it apart to clean it. That copy of PSO has been spinning in there for like a year straight.

That's nuts. I got my GC controller and PS2 controller off craigslist and I don't know what the hell people are doing when playing or hanging around their games but X button on the PS2 controller was so sticky that sometimes you would press it and it would get stuck. I ended up having to take it apart and I found like almost a centimeter thick of some sort of jelly on the plunger. And the GC controller was pretty bad too, there were crumbs under the c-stick that was jamming it up.

Yeah it's gross.. But the windowsill thing. A good idea. I had actually considered buying some sort of wall shelf to put behind my tv, like at level with the top of it, so I can have more vidya space.

You could suspend it up close to the ceilings. That's what hospitals and hotels all do to make more floor space. I see tons of CRT wall and ceiling mounts at the thrift stores. I don't know why I never buy them.

This apartment is ran by Nazi's I swear. We can't have Christmas lights on our patio's or balconies, we can't put decorations on the outside of our doors. And anything holiday related cannot be in view of anyone else, like even inside of the house as long as the blinds are open and they can see it. And that's not even scratching the surface.

Yes, yes, I know
>flatscreen LED

I'm currently looking for a CRT. However, with my limited corner space here, I have to take some measurements and see what size is best. I'm also gonna have to consult my sis who's an interior designer and see what I can rearrange in my room. Because just look at my little stand holding the SNES and TV, it's too small and probably too weak to hold a CRT!
I'd love to score a stand where I can put the CRT on top and display my /vr/ consoles right below it.

I had a similar situation actually. And I blew it too. I fucked up. I was looking for a GC at the time and a man saw my ad and was offering me a black GC with Gameboy Player, Gameboy Player disc and Smash Brothers Melee for 20. Problem was that I only had 20 bucks at the time and wasn't gonna have more cash anytime soon. Plus he had to sell it asap because it was his move day and we was leaving the state. Even worse he didn't have the power adapter for the GC so no way of testing it for like a week. So I declined and got a GC at the local shop instead. I had no idea what that Gameboy Player disc was worth at the time. If I had known I would have bought that shit without hesitation.

Theoretically, a rear projection tv can be pretty nice for retro stuff. It has a lot going for it

>native SD resolution
>no input lag
>great audio

and more interestingly

>old electronics

Old televisions processed pictured information a little differently. TV's from the 80s have a yellowish tint to the image vs newer tv's have a reddish tint. This has nothing to do the user settings or even the service mode. It's deeper than that. Honestly, it doesn't talked about much on here, but it's one of the things that makes an old tv look old.

A big old rear projector will have a very unique image compared to other big size tv's.

Holy hell! The PC repair shop I volunteer at recently got rid of a Compaq Presario CDS 850 that looked IDENTICAL to the one pictured, except all of the drive bays were used by a 5.25" floppy drive, a CD-ROM drive, and a Tape Drive. And the specs weren't nearly as good as the one in the ad (486 vs Pentium, 320(?)MB instead of a 1.2GB HD.)

Side note: I was tasked with extracting all the files off of that machine, which was a PITA since it ran Windows 3.1 and the only remotely practical removable storage option was the 3.5" floppy drive. To top it off, whoever previously owned it used a color custom scheme that managed to be even more color-blinding that "Hot Dog Stand", and had set a bizarre screensaver that would kick in after just 1 minute with rabbits and weird voices. Yikes.

Sorry for the rather OT replay, but I'll post some setup pics soon

I recently found my old playstation and this shitty-ass old crt in the basement and I wanted to put them in my tiny-ass room. Voila my solution. I have to mess around with the cables everytime I want to play, but at least the ugly old thing isn't visible all the time.

There is one notorious disadvantage to RPTVs, and that'd be their viewing angle. Unless you're looking at it head on, the image quality will change on the angle, usually darkening if you look at it from the side. To my knowledge, this has plagued RPTVs until the very day they were officially discontinued.

Of course they can drink milk. They're Asians, not the fucking witch from The Wizard of Oz. They're not going to melt. It's true that there's a larger prevalence among Asians for lactose intolerance, however, but most adults become intolerant to some degree. I'm about to hit thirty, I'm as Eurowhite as Eurowhite gets, and I fart up a storm if I eat too much ice cream. Five years ago? Wouldn't have been a problem at all.

tl;dr: When you get old, you'll have nasty milk farts.
