What's the best /vr/ related mecha game?

>> No.1253578

Quite a bit to choose from

Assault Suits Valken
Front Mission: Gun Hazard
Metal Warriors
Armored Core series
Endless Duel

My personal votes go to Metal Warriors and Endless duel because of dat multiplayer.

Go back to /m/. Games are either retro or they aren't, we don't need more slippery slopes.

Omega Boost was pretty fucking awesome for a PS1 game.

Also the first Armoured Core.

This guy knows his shit.

Assault Suits, Gun Hazard, and Metal Warriors are all very solid 2D platform shooters. They're not just good mecha games, but a few of my favorite SNES games.

Endless Duel is definitely a fun 2D fighter with mechs, but I'm personally partial to Gundam Battle Assault 2 for PSX. You can use the Endless Waltz versions of all the Gundam Wing suits, plus a bunch of other suits from various series.

Armored Cores are my hands-down favorite, though. You REALLY get to customize your mech, from weapons and bodyparts to radiators and targeting systems and everything in between. And when you're done sperging over your perfect mech build, you get to fuck shit up with that giant robot, and then use the mercenary money you earned to buy better parts to wreck bigger shit. The three on PSX are all fucking great. But AC3 for PS2 is my favorite.

I spent so much time on Armoured Core as a kid. I think it's why I grew up to be a mecha-loving manchild.

A friend lent me For Answer a while back, dropped everything and played it for a week nonstop. So much nostalgia.

Well, the most complete mecha game I've ever played is without any doubt Gunparade March. The only problem is that it's just too complex, it has so many stuff to take care of, your character goes to school, interacts with other characters kinda like Persona, builds up relationships that will help in the battlefield. The game also has an anime and spawned some sequels on PS2.

Does this count? OK, no.

I really liked the Gundam fighting game for Super Famicom.
