WHY WON'T YOU PLAY IT /VR/!? IT'S SO FUCKING AWESOME!

It's really good and you should play it. If you like it, spread the word an maybe we'll get a good translation someday. Let's talk about the greatest /vr/ game you've never played.

>> No.1243587

I'm playing it right now but there's a bitching difficulty ramp leading up to and especially right after the second boss.

Cash farming the "Solid" mice for like 120 yen a battle and I need about 50,000, not counting the ammo for Kasch's Buckshot gun that uses 5 shotgun shells at once so...

>> No.1243590

and, of course there's the dread of getting to the end of the translation and not getting to finish. As I understand it you can't even use the untranslated disks 7 and 8 along with the translated version because of some cgecksum issue? Is that true?

That might be. I've never tried. But I was overjoyed to get to play as much as I did.

I've slogged through moonspeak rpgs before and I was thinking that my momentum might be able to carry me through the final 1/4 but if the disks arent even compatible that's kind of discouraging.

At least with Snatcher, nobody got to see the end.

>> No.1244092

Because I play porn games.

>> No.1244168

I finnished the Sega CD version earlier this year. It's not a bad game, but it get's tiresome towards the end. The final boss was actually really hard because I found out one of Tien Lian most important skill in the final boss battle. The manual is really important in every release since it explains things that are left unexplained in the game.

I recommend this page if you want a reference card about the different characters and elements in the game, it is much more complete than the actual manual. But it contains spoilers (in japanese)

It has adult themes, it would be rated M for sure.

Seriously though is there any way to make money better than farming these Solids? It's so boring, every encounter is exactly exactly the same and I keep sitting down the Wiimote because I plan on going back to it and my wife switches to Netflix without saving my progress.

>>1244174

I never had to farm anything so far as I can remember.

Sometimes they drop an item called Old Coin it's the only thing that ever happens differently but I don't know where to sell them.

>> No.1244427

Is that one portuguese translation complete? I can read that fine.

>> No.1244439

>>1244418

IIRC you can sell stuff in every shop in the game.

>> No.1244443

I've always wanted to play this one, but I know the translation is unfinished so I haven't given it a shot. Yeah, unfinished translation - what gives? Anyone know what happened?

Yeah for 1 yen unless you go to the right place

It's the only one. The game's still worth it.

>> No.1244638

>>1244472

It's worth it for the music alone. Not to mention probably the finest 8-bit graphics ever.

>> No.1245470

I hope we get a true translation of this game sometime. It looks like a real gem.

>> No.1245825

MAH NIGGA

It's playable as is, though. Give it a try.

>> No.1245909

So should I play the Mega CD version or the MSX version?

Also if I finish it and like it enough I might try at least translate a textdump of the game. I have no idea about hex editing though so no TL patch.

>> No.1246002

>>1245909

I've never played the CD version, as I have no Japanese beyond reading kana. It's probably better, but the MSX Turbo R version is the one I fell in love with.

I get the feeling the code might be a pain to reverse engineer on the MSX version. Not that you have to worry about that.

>> No.1246009

>>1245909

I played both but only completed the Mega CD release. The MSX Turbo R is the one that feels more natural, the scrolling and movement on the Mega CD version is really choppy and the loading for battles takes some time.
