I have one question for all you at /vr/.
Does using a turbo controller count as cheating?

>> No.1242189

No.

Do you use the turbo button on a turbo controller?

I had pic related when I was a kid. I fucking loved this thing. I had no idea that the Turbo buttons did what they did, though, so I just used it as a regular controller. It was pretty swank.

>> No.1242206

Maybe for Track & Field.
Otherwise no.

>> No.1242210

If it makes the game more fun to play, then do whatever. Games are supposed to be about fun.

I can absolutely see a turbo button being super-useful in a game like Silver Surfer in which auto-fire should've been implemented in the first place.

>Track & Field
Oh right, forgot about that game.
I don't see the point in playing if you're just going to use a turbo controller.

Silver Surfer with turbo is a pretty neat game actualy.
As long as you only use A for turbo and not B.

Think of it as tendinitis prevention. It depends on the game.

You make your own turbo with your heels and a Power Pad.

Might sound like a stupid question but how do you get the turbo to work on those?

I tried doing it but I don't think I'm doing it right.

The buttons that say Turbo are seperate buttons, you hold them down. Most bootleg consoles have buttons like that already.

It's not like the Advantage where you press the button to switch turbo function on or off and just hold down the normal button. Also variable rate turbo on an Advantage, properly set, will beat max-speed turbo at Track & Field. But nothing beats Michael J Fox on a Power Pad.

i know beavis and butthead had a part where i needed the turbo button to real in the gwar tickets.

This. Basically any SHMUP or shooter with no auto fire needs turbo to be really enjoyed.

>> No.1243553

Even Arino has used turbo controllers before.

I'd say it'd depend kind of on what game you're playing, but I don't think it's a big deal even if I would consider it cheating, it's just a game, not real life.
