And I think the complete opposite, with only Super Metroid, Super Punch-Out, and Yoshi's Island coming close to beating the Genesis' best titles (Dynamite Headdy, Gunstar Heroes, Rocket Knight Adventures, The Revenge of Shinobi, Shinobi III, Streets of Rage 2, . I don't act like a jerkoff and march into SNES threads telling them to get a Genesis, though. They're both the best systems ever made. I think people can have both.

If you consider the Sega CD part of the Genesis library, the Lunar games -- 2 in particular -- are absolutely fantastic games that give many other RPGs a run for their money.

I still haven't played a game with as good of an ending as Lunar 2's, but saying why would ruin it.

In my opinion, the genesis really doesn't have more good games than the SNES, but let's not get into any heated arguments. Just a difference in opinion. Yeah...later. Read the post where I said "from the get-go" (meaning the first out of the gate). They went on to later makes games for N64 and PS2, but not after initially entering the era ONLY as a company making games for Saturn.

Shit, they only did one original yPS1 game (Rakugaki Showtime), and their other one was a port of Silhouette Mirage. They didn't S&P and Bangaioh for N64, but this was later, when they could afford to make them without Sega's help.

Over the years the 16-bit systems come down to the type of games that you like. I like shmups so naturally I would do the Mega Drive and the PC Engine. The Super Famicom has some few good shmups (Super Aleste, Axelay, R-Type III, Bio-Metal, Macross) but there wasn't enough shmups for the SF to keep me interested.

Gunstar Heroes, Thunderforce IV, Landstalker, Sonic 2, & Knuckles, and Shining Force II should get you started. Don't waste your time with Ecco or Golden Axe, they're boring and stupid games.

I'd recommend Gunstar Heroes and Landstalker above everything else.
