picture of all my genesis games taken on a toaster haha sorry for the shit photo. I don't buy turds either all my games are pretty damn good. I have atomic runner, dangerous seed, and dahna megami tanjo coming in the mail. Genesis has been my favorite to collect for because there is so much shit I never got a chance to play as a kid. I have a pretty good collection for most /vr/ consoles but my genesis one just blows everything else away. I got the MUSHA pirate cart too because I am not paying 100 bucks for a damn game plus its from korea so its legit pir8, I plan on picking up an undead line pirate cart too because there is no way I will ever find that game cheap either :(

I never had a console or handheld for myself, and decided to change that a few years ago, and got a snes and gamecube.
Then when /vr/ was founded that spark was reignited, and I got interested in the Gameboy also. I hope to get a GB Light some day, I got a regular GB, 1 pocket (and another coming in the mail), 2 color, 1 advance, and 2 SP.
I don't really like the SP, so I also ordered 2 GBC clones with backlight, I'm hoping they arrive next week...

The Playstation games (and a ps2) and Q are gifts from one of my best friends.
I only played a lot of pokemon back in the day, when my little brother and sister got a gb color with pokemon silver and gold, so for nostalgia's sake I focused on those games first, I believe I now have them all from Gen. 1 and 2 (except for the Japanese verions, of course, might buy them someday).

Now I'm trying to actually play some of the gb games I have, if you have a moment, could you recommend some that are worth playing?
Here's the list of the ones I currently own, the Y and N mean whether I properly played it or not (yet): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuoV6WFBdebQdFZwMkpmOXpyWFFtaHduSW8zZG44YXc&usp=sharing

You should fuck around with settings and see if there is a white balance feature. If the white balance is auto, focus on a white object and the camera will try to get the right color balance for the room. If not there maybe some preset color balance settings that might work for you. The "Tungsten Light" setting is a good one to try, because that's the kind of light your average household uses.

Yeah EA manufactured their own carts. They had actually bought a mega drive and reverse engineered it to make their own devkit. Sega had strict policies back in the day too but not as bad as nintendo and EA basically said they would move on and sell mega drive games without the sega seal on them and they would sell their technology to others to do the same so Sega worked out a deal with them, yeah they were pretty bad back then too but at least they made a few good games haha.

Not that much different from being emulated aside from the lightgun support, which really isn't all that fantastic, to be honest. Snatcher's one of those games I like to make playing through a yearly occurance ever since 2007 or so.

I'd like to but I've got a no emulation policy.

I don't play anything without the cartridge/disc. It makes the hobby more expensive/limiting, especially in cases like Snatcher, but at the same time, it gives me something to hunt for as well as to have on the horizon.

One day I'll buy a copy and play it. And I look forward to it.

Just got the PS2 slim today. I don't have the right power cord for it though. It takes an 8.5v and the only one that fits it is the PS1 slims 7.5v. I try to turn it on, and nothing happens. I'll have to buy an 8.5.

Got the Jaguar in a huge bundle. Has all of the cords and controller. One of the buttons don't work on the controller though. When the splash screen comes up, it usually turns red. I think I cleaned the games out and I got them to actually work. I only have 4 games for it.

The games on the far right are ones I haven't gotten to clean/test/organize yet. The top one on the far right is After Burner 2. I want to make a new label for it, but I don't know what type of paper or ink to use. When I try to make my own, the colors aren't as vibrant. I'll show you what I mean in the pic with my N64 games.

Last year, I think it was, I bought a huge tote full of boxed Genesis games. That's where most of these came from. I bought Castlevania for dirt cheap. My dad was out looking at some property. He said he knows the guy who owns it and said that he had some tools in the garage and that if wanted anything out of there to go ahead and take it. He found a box with about 10 Genesis games. All were boxed except maybe 3. 1 or 2 boxes didn't have games in them, so I pieced them together. I paid my dad $20 for the box. It had Castlevania, Star Trek, I think Ecco, and I remember Earthworm Jim didn't have the game.

Here's what I mean. The red turns out more of a pinkish red than anything. Would printing on high gloss paper help? I went to staples to look for what they had, but really they didn't have much. I used basic 5/8 - 3 7/16 labels. I want to make some high quality ones, but for some reason it's like it's a well kept secret. Any time I search to see what people use, it's "I bought mine from so-and-so on this site/eBay/somewhere." I just want to make high quality vinyl stickers that stick better than your basic folder labels.

I'm much more interested in collecting strategy guides (since people tend to throw those out or take bad care of them more often then games.)

I want to collect every single Official Nintendo Power Guide (since Nintendo doesn't make those anymore).

I'm just starting now so my collection isn't that big yet.

Fun fact: Playstation also made official guides for Crash Bandicoot 1 & 2 which I want to collect. There were also official guides from Konami for Metal Gear Solid (I have one of them as shown in the picture)

Looking for buyers in Toronto.

Quite a few TVs have a set of RCA jacks in the front. Usually for plugging in less important/temporary/frequently unplugged devices ... like the kids' Nintendo.
The modern equivalent would be the set of plugs set into the side of today's LCDs (instead of the back with the other connections.)
