Does /vr/ like this game? I've been playing the first missions and though it gets a little repetitive, it's still very entertaining. Every new mission gets harder and forces you to upgrade your gear and change your strategy.

Love it though it is really easy to abuse.

Have you played the sequels?

>> No.1212695

Hell yes. Good shit.

I actually played Syndicate Wars first, then went back to the original.

Wars has a better storyline (pretty much just by having one to begin with), destructible environments, weapon variety, etc... but it did dumb down good things from the original - having to account for ammo, nonlinear progression, managing taxes on territories...

Both are really fucking great games, though.

No I only played the first game.

I had all of my syndicate's territories Very Happy, but now some are plain Happy or Unhappy. Should I lower their taxes?

The original expansion pack is basically a bunch of hard mode missions. worth a play.

just lower taxes on the latter/harder countries. max out the tax for the 1st country(un-united kingdoms) and any other easy countries you've beaten. then WAIT(or use the fastforward cheat), WAIT, WAIT for it and YAY!! almost free easy money! if the easy countries rebel, they're easy to re-play again anyway. that's the cheapest trick in the game.

>get to the final mission with the first four agents
>they're already fully upgraded, so I just go all on weapons
>HOLY SHIT, they're coming from every direction
>get squad running around and abusing corners like crazy
>actually run out of ammo for the first time and they're still coming
>running around till the enemy agents stop spawning
>looks like the only way to get out of this is to self-destruct someone
>send one of my dudes to the corner where all the enemy are catching up
>click the self-destruct button and beat the game

I was left with nothing, but the most hollow of feelings, and year after year I keep asking myself, "Why couldn't I save him? Why couldn't I bring everyone home?"

Syndicate really fits the category of flawed diamond. It's a brilliantly unfinished game. An incomplete masterpiece. A game whose sole basis and concept were good enough to carry it to fame, despite the ridiculously backwards AI, the stupid amount of bugs, and the overly simplistic management gameplay.

I'm currently using 2 cyborgs but I can't afford to lose a single one. They watch each others backs and keep each other company :3
