What Sega games has /vr/ been playing recently?

I picked up a CDX. It was something of a gamble, since its a pretty expensive console, but it turns out to be worth it. Unlike the model 2, the composite video is nice and crisp. And the sound is slightly better too. breddy gud.

Gotta finish my current SCD games first, before packing up the model 2, though, as my save files are on the other system.

If I hadn't got such a good deal on my X'Eye I probably would have gone CDX

How's the X'eye in terms of its picture/sound?

Pretty great, really. I had it apart and it's a lot like a Saturn inside. It has solder points on the board for Svideo since it uses the Wondermega board but for whatever reason they elected not to put an Svideo port on it.

I was kind of torn on which to go for. But I decided on the compact model because the x'eye looked nearly as big as the model 2 combo I've had. Model 1 combo was really tempting though.

It still doesn't play Hellfire music at the proper tempo though...

I have a model 1 and several model 2s. They all have capacitor related problems that the X'Eye and CDX don't suffer from. If they didn't I'd probably be using the Model 1 because it looks so sweet.

The X'Eye is way easier to work on if and when it does need service than a CDX but the CDX is SO compact you could take it on vacation if you wanted.

CDX is nice.
Though it concerns me there isn't a single air vent on the thing.

Kind of glad Sega ended the series with that game. We didn't end up with a load of slow paced, pretentious, text filled 32bit sequels, possibly with horrid early 3d graphics. Instead it ended on a very high note. One of the best 16 bit rpgs on any platform.

>pretentious

Go ahead and list those "pretentious" 32 bit RPGs. I'll go ahead and give you a freebie in the form of Xenogears (I disagree with it being pretentious but whatever)

Didn't really mean it in the sense of the game itself, sorry. I mean in terms of the dialogue. Otherwise great games like FFT are full of it.

Ah, okay. Fair enough. Sorry.

Those are much easier to sit through nowadays thanks to fast forward, though it can be a bit tiresome.

The cartridge slot on the CDX is, though. Only the X'Eye and Genesis 3 have universally shaped cartridge slots.

How does one tell that they are getting the copyright infringement edition?

Be a man and play one of the best games ever made.

Okay, but seriously, if your game immediately boots to the Sega screen and then the title screen with the Koshiro credits at the bottom, you have the original version. The reprints without Batman and Rambo will have a copyright screen explicitly stating Spider-Man being a property of Marvel before booting to the title screen without the Koshiro credit at the bottom since all that info is on the prior screen.

it was a lucky roll in my case, i went for a japanese copy though because less of the reprints were made there
