Still playing Super Bomberman 5 (one of my favourite Bomberman games and one of the last, great games for Super Famicom) until I complete it 100%.

Also installed the Virtual Console release for Bomberman Hero on my Wii. Probably I'll give it a change after finishing Zelda Twinlight Princess which I'm currently playing.

Mega Bomberman on the Mega Drive was damn cool, it's really the best (and technically only) Bomberman game I played and can easily replay it anytime. But that final boss is brutal.

It's not that big of a downgrade. It plays just as well. The only difference I've noticed is the colors and some stage animations look shittier on the Genesis/Mega Drive.

My first exposure to Bomberman was Saturn Bomberman. I've been lucky enough to play some Netlink matches with the Saturn Netlink. Here's some video I recorded about a year ago of a netlink match. Cool shit.

Forgot to mention I'm the Black Bomber in the video. Netlink works via direct dialing and I don't have unlimited long distance so I have other Netlinkers dial me making me the second player. The other guy is not an experienced Bomberman so I goofed off and didn't go at him full force. I know how shitty it is playing a competitive game against someone for the first time and didn't want to turn him off the game. I'd hate to have even fewer Netlink opponents.

And what does the anime adaptions have to do with weeaboos? I also like anime, manga and japanese video games since I was a little kid but you won't see me shouting "I am an otaku!" in every opportunity.

Thing about 5 was that they literally used a procedural random level generator to design the maps, which is why there are so many of them.
It's a cool idea but the stages lost a bit of identity because of that.

3 was the best because they built the stages around blowing up the red switches first, it's the only bomberman that plays more like an actual puzzle rather than action game.

Imo, best level design in the series was 3>2>4>1>5. Bomberman World for PS1 felt the closest to 3, it had huge levels spanning multiple screens with crystals you had to collect to unlock the exit in place of the red switches.
Bosses were super long and difficult.

I liked the first 64 game better than second attack, I hated the way the continue system works in that game.

I snagged this sweet Bomberman piggy bank at an anime convention. $20 complete in box. The day after there was a post on the Hudson facebook page about how rare and bad ass this particular piggy bank is. Apparently you could only get it in UFO catchers.
