What are /vr/'s favorite Playstation games?

Looking to expand my library. Please mention anything other than extremely obvious choices (FFVII, MGS, etc.)

Obscure games are always a plus.

Jumping Flash 1&2 - awesome first person 3D platformers, actually done well. You're a mechanical bunny rabbit. They're actually REALLY good at letting you do some fun and precise platforming in huge 3D spaces, great games.

Tomba 2 - a couple of people have mentioned the first one, I haven't played it but 2 is a fucking classic in my mind. Awesome platforming, fun puzzles and environments and adventure and weapons/equipment to play around with. A ton of sidequests and shortcuts around the world, you'll spend a lot of time later on looking around for those nooks and crannies that went unexplored earlier or getting into those hidden, hard-to-reach areas. Ton of fun, very well put-together, very satisfying.

The Divide: Enemies Within - My favorite Playstation game that nobody has played. It's basically a (successful imo) attempt at making Super Metroid in 3D. Rips off a lot of concepts but you're still running and gunning in neat alien environments in a non-linear progression, grabbing powerups and equipment that allow you to explore more and more areas.

Shadow Tower - King's Field spinoff (more-or-less, all these games lead up to Demon's/Dark Souls), first person real time dungeon crawl/RPG that leaves it all up to you. Another non-linear game, you'll often find yourself knee-deep in the shit with a lot of loose ends to tie together and tough decisions to make regarding your survival. Fun as hell if you can get used to the controls and enjoy hard dungeon crawling. And dying.

Super Puzzle Fighter -

Also - when playstation1 came out there were some really cool games ported from the 3DO console:

>Gex
>Total Eclipse Turbo
>Offworld Interceptor Extreme
>Blazing Dragons
All those great titles from Crystal Dynamics, before being acquired and fucking ruined by Eidos.

>Warhawk

Other games that were ported from 3DO during the whole 'FMV in video games fad' though I thought it was kinda interesting:

>Psychic Detective
Good luck finding a physical copy for PS1, might have to hunt for a ISO of it instead.

>The Raiden Project

>Loaded
>ReLoaded
As far as Im concerned these two games for me were awesome, and underrated, and forgotten as soon as GTA came out, and people thought that game was so controversial - pff, try Loaded and Reloaded... Fuck GTA1 after that.

My personal favourites.

- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the best Castlevania of all time in my opinion.
- Brave Fencer Musashi.
- Suikoden 1 and 2.
- Digimon World. This one is not for everyone since training your mon is somehow tedious if you are not a fan of the series. Its also quite buggy.
- Digimon World: Digital Card Battle. My favorite Digimon game.
- Monster Rancher 2.
- Monster Rancher Battle Card: Episode 2. (the first game is on GB)
- Dino Crisis 2. Not as "survival horror" as the first one, but really good, and i personally think that its better than the first one, but mainly because i really like arcade games.
- Both Gex games
- Heart of Darkness
- The Last Blade. If you watched or read Rurouni Kenshin, its somehow set in that historical period of Japan but with monsters, magic and that stuff.
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, and MvC. The first one has more characters but you can´t switch characters in story mode, also it has a really hard final boss.
- Medal of Honor and MoH: Underground.
- Oddworld: Abe´s Exoddus.
- Pocket Fighter
- Megaman/Rockman 8. Although most people didn´t like it, i did.
- Megaman/Rockman X4
- Spiderman.
- Spyro 2: Ripto´s Rage
- Syphon Filter
- Tarzan
- Threads of Fate/Dewprism
- Tomba 2
- Toy Story 2
- Vagrant Story

Extremely tense and difficult horror survival/puzzle game. You're playing a kid named Rion who takes drugs to get psychic powers. These drugs are slowly killing him, but are required to be able to allow him to defend himself. There are pills to cancel out overdoses ("shorts") but they are rare. Items do not respawn, but enemies do. Very unique charge attack system and beautiful music. NOT FOR NOOBS. Pic related: Rion is "shorting"..

> Soul Edge (Soul Blade)
The actual first game in the Soul Calibur series. Plays surprisingly smooth for it's age. If you like Soul Calibur series, this is worth owning.

> Point Blank Series
It's a non-violent shooter. Wait, this is a GOOD thing. It's actually pretty challenging on hard modes, fun on easy modes, and great all around with colorful characters and nifty shooting puzzles. Try this out once you're tired of "Kill all the guys" type shooting games.

It's a kids game. Super easy, almost no skill required, and short. Some people like it as a casual tactical game. Yes, I did just say that.

Bottom line: if you have ever played a tactical game before you will be BORED fast. If not, it's an OK intro.

Intelligent Qube is a puzzle game in which you need to capture blocks by activating, then deactivating tiles at the right time. It's a neat idea and plays well. It has a really awesome orhaestrated soundtrack too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZM9kTGFeko

The Raiden Project is a collection of Raiden and Raiden 2, near perfect arcade replications of the games. It's a bit uncommon though.

You Don't Know Jack is a quiz game with a sense of humor. Up to three players, and it's recommended that you do play with others, by itself it's nowhere near as fun.

Love Eternia as well, but I honestly never found the voices to be that bad in the English dub. Sure, they weren't great, but considering when it came out, and the facts that (as far as I know) Namco initially didn't want to localize it anyways, wasn't sure how well English voicing would go over with fans, hired off the streets to save money, and gave the "voice actors" poor direction. But for the most part the people doing the voicing at least try to make it work, and apparently someone wound up liking Reid's actor, as he went on to voicing Sly Cooper a few years later. Actually found a good deal of charm to the dub for what it was, but maybe that's just because I tend to at least tolerate dubs as long as they aren't complete garbage, such as Phantasia GBA's being so atrocious some years later.

As for everything else... literally meaningless to me.
