I have a Japanese Game Gear, but no AC adapter for it. Since there are about a dozen goddamn Sega AC adapters out there, which one would work with it? I think I read somewhere that a Master System one works, but I have no idea.

Also Game Gear general, I guess.

I believe you should be able to use the same one as the Genesis 2, 3 and CDX.

just read the voltage rating on the back and buy an adapter were you can change the voltage to your needs
unless you're a pussy

I did that when I was younger with one of those universal power packs with slide switches and 10 different plugs. It worked like a charm, except for the whole portability part.

Any 9VDC adapter where the tip is positive polarity will work. Had one so long ago, but somehow lost it. I still think one of my cousins stole it (the little fucks).

The MK2103 is the correct official AC adaptor. It is the one I use on my Game Gear.

I have one of those, but the Japanese Game Gear uses a different one, with a larger tip.

>haven't played games on Game Gear for a couple weeks
>use the ac adapter from Genesis like usual
>put in Sonic 2 and turn it on
>screen immediately shuts off
Why this?

The majority of issues with the Game Gear can be traced back to the capacitors.

If you're still running it using the original ones, you'll want to replace them. The originals are pretty not good.

Thanks, I didn't want to buy a new Game Gear if I didn't have to.
