I have no idea to proof how I created these images, other than this picture of my Mediafire folder, in which I have the hack collection uploaded. In it are included various charts, one of them being >>1160591

Just wanted to say that I am probably going to work on the fourth version of my hack collection, because there are a few great hacks which came out (Kamek's Island for example) and a few great hacks which are coming out soon (hopefully) like The Second Reality Project 2 Reloaded.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/831iidazfebdhau/SMW+Hacks+v3.rar

I think this is much better than the HAX folder that >>1160585 posted because it's organized into tiers. It's true that there are less hacks in my collection (there's about 70 SMW hacks in total, and 6 Yoshi's Island hacks), but they are all of great quality, compared to the HAX folder which is a mixed bag.

Not him, but it's more that reproductions are destroying perfectly usable games. I don't care if it's a copy of a Madden game, it still has a right to exist, and old video games are no longer produced in physical formats, meaning that whatever's out there is all that there will ever be out there.

You don't have to buy them, you know. This is exactly what flashcarts are for. People who want to play on hardware without any hassle. Sure, they can be pretty expensive but think of it as a good investment. All the games you could possibly want on one cartridge and no more dealing with price gouging reseller scum!

How much are these, and how practical are they? Do they have any incompatibilities? Do they write SRAM to the SD card so you can back it up on your computer?

I have a GBA Flash cart and although it saves me a lot of money, it isn't compatible with the full GBA library. I assume carts for other consoles are the same ordeal. For one, they have to load the ROM into internal RAM found on the cart itself. Depending on the size of the RAM available, some ROMs won't fit, and thus can't be played. Star Ocean may be an example of this. I think it's a whopping 32 MB, and it's one of the few games in the Super Famicom library to achieve this size. Some Flash carts may not anticipate a ROM being that big.

>>1165035

You don't even need a Wii. There are SNES emulators available for GC as well. You need a device that bridges an SD reader through one of the memory card ports. You'll either have to mod the GC or use an ActionReplay disc to run unauthorized code. The latter is easier.

us.codejunkies.com/Products/GCNWii-SD-Media-Launcher__EF000589.aspx

( I'm not sure if I bought mine from that particular site, but it's the same one I own. )

I have a couple of gripes, though: 1.) Don't even bother trying to boot GC ISOs this way. It's just too slow to be usable. All the stutter and lag will make games practically unplayable. 2.) You're pretty much stuck with RF, composite or S-video signals. This looks horribly blurred on modern TV sets. GC component cables are ridiculously expensive (USD $100 and up) and always will be.

>>1165162

$190.00 on Retrogate. As for SRAM, I'm not 100% sure since I don't own one but I'm assuming that it does going by what my old Acekard does. Filesize isn't really an issue since It supports MSU-1 but I did hear that it has problems playing SuperFX games (so no Starfox 2). They say that issue will be fixed in a future firmware update but you'll never know. Me? I'm waiting on a price drop even though that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon. Sounds like a really wonderful gadget but it's just too expensive right now. Still though, for those who want to play on their real consoles, that's the same price as one Earthbound cart and they can just buy that instead. You have to bite the bullet but only once and once ever. No more repros and no more resellers. Now that I think about it, using a softmodded Wii might be the better deal but there's still the niche group that wants to use their real Snes and that option's mainly for them.

SNES RAM carts are a mess because of all the unusual hardware found in SNES games.

(In general, it really varies by system for that reason - the Genesis, for example, is piss-easy to build a RAM cart for, because almost no one used custom hardware.)
