How do I mod my SNES to play Japanese games?

>> No.1159193

Just put open up the game and and put the board in an American cart.

Break off the 2 plastic tabs on the inside where the cartridge goes.

I have a SNES 2. You know, the one that's smaller and the power and reset buttons are rounded?

What's that have to do with anything?

this is exactly what you should do if you want to play japanese games on an american super nintendo.

Worked damn well for my japanese copy of Super Mario world and I'm thinking of getting some of the parodious and goemon games in japanese for it as well.

Just wondering if that makes any difference in what I have to do.

Will breaking off the plastic tabs ruin my console?

>> No.1159538

>>1159446
No, just don't go at them with power tools or anything. I broke the tabs in my model 2 snes with needle nose pliers in a few minutes, and they came about 98% off.

I did this entirely with a pair of pliers and sandpaper

Looks good. More effort than I bothered to put into breaking off the tabs in mine.

>> No.1159764

If you have a SNES mini, the whole plastic part with the tabs is removable. As long as you have the security bit to open the system, you can just take it off without breaking anything permanently.

>> No.1159770

>>1159764
If I'm not mistaken though, doesn't that leave more of the system exposed? I mean, it's under the flap, but it's still removed from within that area right?

>> No.1162457

>>1159190
Don't bother. Get, or build, a riser. Personally I build my own because the people who sell them want silly money for something I can put together for a buck. Why butcher a system when a cheap adapter will give you the same results?

>> No.1162459

>>1159770
It's just a tiny part of the case, it doesn't expose shit to break them off and you'll never ever notice that they're gone.

>ITT: OP doesn't know how 2 google. Anons do it for him.

I couldn't be anymore disappoint.
