Okay we're all tired of the "look at this overpriced stuff" threads full of reseller hate. Can we do a thread where we post unbelievable deals? Probably ones you missed out on but maybe ones you got. If you absolutely gotta feel superior you can laugh at how ignorant the sellers were missing out on possibly making hundreds of dollars if they'd just researched or even done an auction instead of buy it now.

Also if you find a crazy deal that's NOT already sold but it's not really something you want that would be the gold standard post.

Going to kick it off with some Amiga.

Only missing it's power cord. This guy found over a dozen boxed CD32s and sold them off back in August and I missed them.

I tend to buy broken Saturns for 1-10€, most of the time I just need to blow the dust out and maybe wipe the boards with alcohol for them to work fine.

Then I get spare cables, modchip them, and sell them for 120€.

With the prices of cables and the modchip, I don't actually make much on these though. Worst thing is, I'm always low on controllers.

Yeah but you're doing God's work, giving new life. These sales are just crazy. If that guy with the $8 Amiga 1200 "keyboard" had just bought a power supply and tested the thing then set up an auction it would have fetched him $400 or more.

If I had just SEEN the auction I could have plugged all my Amiga 500 accessories into it plus a simple CF card and been playing every Commodore game ever released in native hardware.

Damn that's sweet. I just discovered this thing called a JXD sd floppy emulator that's damn near universal though that looks like it'll solve most of my problems with my 500 as well as my C64 and work on an MSX and Spectrum and Atari ST when I get them but for some reason isn't compatible with my Atari 400 which is irritating but not a game breaker.

Wasn't a crazy deal, but just picked up A DS-16 and 2 kiosk NFR versions of Sonic 2 and Columns for $300. I know they weren't pack NFR because the label is a sticker that's hardly centered on the games and cases

What's that on the gameboy's screen?

On topic, a few weeks ago I messaged someone from a local ad site; looking to buy his gba, and offered €10 for it. Went to pick it up, he had a bag of games too, looking to get rid of it real quick for some reason. I already had some of em, but asked what he wanted for the lot. "Well, euhm, you offered €10 for the gba, so, euhm, €15 for everything..?".
Had a bunch of pokemon games, a few gba games, one of which a pretty uncommon one ($35 on pricecharting), and a handful which I didn't yet own. It needed a good cleaning (see pic), but still, best deal I've had since I started collecting again.

Estate sales are great for this kind of thing. Went to one recently, these idiots wanted 200 dollars for a genesis and some games, all parts included. The sale was going all weekend, I told them the price was too high and I'd come back on Sunday to buy it for 20. Sure enough, on Sunday no one had spent 200 dollars for a Genesis, and I got it for twenty.

Got a CIB NES Toploader with all 3 Super Star Wars CIB, an NES Advantage and a bunch of extra cords for $100 at an estate sale a few months back. Not an insane deal, but definitely on the better end.

Snagged a complete Majora's Mask from Goodwill for $2.99 once, and my brother scored a fuckton of PS1 RPGs and stuff for $1.99 each at Goodwill that he flipped in a lot for $400. I was stupid and didn't research the titles (since I don't like RPGs), but definitely would've kept Musashi and Alundra. Oh well...

This was one of my most recent finds. Got it off Craigslist, offered 40 for the Saturn and games, but I noticed the CD games poking out of the corer of one of the pictures, and she agreed to throw them in for another $10. After I took 4 of the games to a local game store my cost ended up being less than $40. Only thing is they smell like cigarette smoke, which I detest, and this woman I bought them from had no teeth. None. Not so much as a scraggly pointy little stump. Freaks me out.

The auction sold for a dollar as far as eBay is concerned, but what likely happened is the buyer paid him an absurd amount of money privately so the seller could circumvent eBay's fees. It's very common with expensive shit.
