Doom 2 was a pack of levels, sure, but a great one, and the new enemies were a very welcome addition. I used to make and play wads, and Doom 2 was the basis for most of them.
MGS2 had a more polished gameplay than MGS and except for things like Rose I loved its plot. Subversive things weren't so common back then, the last hour was genuinely surprising.

Tony Hawk Underground felt like an adventure, with its story mode, and getting off the board, customizing tricks and goals for levels, the like. Didn't hurt you could drive a few vehicles too.
