Why are Game & Watches seemingly so rare? Didn't they sell a ton to last over a decade?

>to last over a decade?
Yes. They lasted 11 years and then broke. That was 20-30 years ago.

Small and forgettable in some random drawer or box, compared to a game console or non LCD handheld.

Screens go bad, and because of the size of the thing, "disposable" like a pocket calculator.

There is a good site that emulates them. It has the double screen Zelda game (which I had as a kid).
They released keyring-sized versions of these at one point. I found the Zelda game but it's too tiny to actually get comfortable on. The emulator does it better

Useful, succinct intelligent posts?
Indeed. You emulations will never emulate that.

It can't be difficult to remake some of these with better hardware. I guess there isn't a big enough market for them, since every portable device can play a billion games now.

What did the zoomie mean by this?

MAME simulates a lot of Electronic Games, including Game & Watch. You do need art files for it to not just be the LCD sprites on a LCD grey plane, but that should be covered for the popular titles. It doesn't replicate the wasted money, but you can just burn some bills to simulate that too.

There's likely other ways of replicating a similar kind of display, feel etc but using modern tech. Not sure what that has to do with being a zoomer.

More likely you're just flapping your thumbs about something you know nothing about for the (You)s

Because you're a zoomer and you're doing it. inb4 30yo boomer zoomer

And what, play it on PC with some xbox controller? LOL
You can't replicate the hardware itself, that's the whole point of them. If you wanted with different system just get/pirate Game & Watch Gallery which is a different experience as well

You can do it on a handheld these days if you really need your incorrect and pointless flavour of autism. After all it isn't the 1980s anymore so you aren't replicating the experience correctly to begin with and though you may be a manchild, you aren't an actual child. If you want to be a tryhard, at least do it right.

If instead you ever get an interest in video games, you have that option available.

You sound so insecure as fuck over this lmao, everyone can pirate and you aren't special
Regardless, best of luck telling me how to replicate a Panorama or Tabletop series game on your PC using a PS5. You can download an equivalent online, sure, but you aren't replicating what makes the game and its intended experience at the first place the way you could for full-scale consoles

Where does it imply anyone is special for emulation, the post just says you can emulate it and that you need artfiles and you start seething about it. Seems to me you have a chip on your shoulder about emulation and you are doing some picrel.

On the flip side, the K30 is nice, but it has NES games instead of the original LCD titles

This time I think anon may be right, it's difficult to replicate both the actual hardware and the games, just like those Tiger electronics handhelds or VMU

The games and look are easy to replicate and that is how most people experience them. I actually own a few of them (not some grand deed, they are cheap as fuck) and they are clearly kids toys. I mean that in a non-derogatory way too, unless you are a kid you're not getting anything out of playing the real thing unless you have small hands. Not like many on this board would even enjoy it in the slightest after 1 minute, the games are too simple, hence you don't have people in this thread actually discussing them and instead just bringing in irrelevant non-discussions.

mame cab as the developers originally intended
>You can't replicate the hardware itself,
Yes you can. Obviously not (You) you, but someone with the knowledge, skill, money, literally can. You can also buy a modern G&W which is fairly close to the hardware, certainly compared to your cope setup.
