One of the hardest games I've ever played in my life. Did zoomers actually beat this without cheats or guides?

The very oldest zoomers were around five or six years old when this came out, if any of them were playing GTA it was solely to screw around.

interestingly enough, most - if not all - of the artwork for the game was finalized during the beta stage
artworks of the various gangs and characters look very different from the actual game

100%? Probably not many people at all, regardless of help. Just due to lack of interest, I doubt many people found hunting everything down and finishing all the vehicle missions fun or worth it. As far as finishing the story and even side missions, it's not a hard game. The last mission is kind of hard but if you die a few times you should know where all the enemies are and how to avoid getting shot or blown up.

I'd say '96 - '97 is "zillennial" border generation, a combination of both generations who experienced dial up and VHS rental stores while also having social media in junior high. When having a smartphone was a status symbol rather than the status quo. Netbooks.

Most people did use cheats, had them memorized. I did too, until one day I decided I wanted to beat it legitimately and that was probably the last time I used them.

People using cheats were common and accepted back then. I used them in Twisted Metal as well but holy shit that one is hard to beat legit.

>> No.11328954

>>11328952

Actually I just remembered the reason I started a new game without cheats was because they didn't allow you to get 100% if you use a cheat even one time in the game.

There are a few difficult submissions though especially if you never played the game before and just go marker to marker. If you know what needs to be done and when to complete the game you might as well speedrun it.
I think the hardest to beat blind would be offroad missions but certain missions could easily wall casual players.

it's been established for decades now. just because you're 20 something and you 'feel old' doesn't make you're less of a zoomer, you're just old zoomer and feel disconnected with young zoomers

96 born here and I dunno man, you say it's just because I feel disconnected from youngers, but the disconnect feels so huge and immense that I don't see how I could be one of them. I look around, see all the broccoli heads and tiktok "goth" girls (hot btw) and I'm like look at these absolute retards, we weren't like this. So that makes me feel like a millennial, we were just our own brand of retarded. Being in grade 10 to 12 as a 96 born was a completely different world than it is now, like literally just a completely different culture, so I think that makes us different.

I am pretty sure I used the weapons cheat codes every time I booted up this sucker. I'm not sure therefore if any of my playthroughs didn't feature it at some point. Also, am I right in remembering there was one that summoned a tank? Using the kickback on the main gun to give you a boost was pretty fun.

Millennial here. I did beat the game. An older boy from church gave it to me for putting on his moms underwear slightly over a decade ago. It took some doing but it doesn't really get super hard until the third part of the map.

I don’t think I ever finished this one but I did beat Vie City. I can tell you w that aiming system and clunky controls (which they couldn’t get right until RDR2) it was pretty damn hard. Not the whole game but certain missions I remember being stuck on for awhile just due to how the mission was set up w those ass controls. Still like the retro parts of the series despite that.

I actually enjoy playing this game on controller now with shitty aiming because it adds extra challenge for me as opposed to aiming with mouse. Game gets too easy after playing it for over 20 years now.
Though doing USJs easier with controller...

same. i know the "playing it as devs intended" drum gets beat a lot around here for some dumb shit, but i don't mind struggling with a controller since these games are trivial with a mouse

Zoomers don't like this game. They might have begrudgingly borrowed their older brother's copy and seethed at the old design sensibilities but that's it
