it's probably an nes game but might be a snes game, too young to remember. its a 2d platformer, in space, our solar system in fact, and set on different planets. you get to choose what character you play as (there are different robots and one human kid) and each char has different abilities and one planet.
the kid's level was like on jupiter.

Thats all I remember.. can you help me /vr/?

And just went through the list of SNES platformers, still drawing a blank. The only really sci-fi platformers I can't say for certain are not it are the Jetson's games for those platforms.

Are you 100% sure it was a platformer, on the NES/SNES? Are you sure it wasn't a fighter, or on a different console?

I honestly can't remember when this came out, so if it turns out to not be retro exactly, I'm sorry, but I've been trying to remember this game for YEARS.

It was probably multiplat, but I remember playing it on one of those candy-colored iMacs. It was a point-and-click, and the plot had something to do with a group of people that had been put into stasis on a boat (a cruise boat, I think, I remember it looking really nice inside) that had run aground in ice. You had to go into the mind of every person in stasis in order to release them from their nightmares and let them die. For some reason I seem to remember one of the people being a young girl named Claire Lune, but searching for that doesn't turn up anything, so I might be wrong about it.

I'd be eternally grateful if anyone had any idea about this.

My brother has an FPS for PSX that I kinda wanted to try even though I don't really like the genre. He wouldn't let me play his games much so I never got a chance.

But now I can't remember the title or what the game was about. I think it might have had something to do with aliens but I'm not sure. One of the later levels (may have been the last) was kinda dark and misty. I think you either collected blue orbs or shot blue orbs. Maybe both? The main villain may have been female and non-human.

And all of this information may be garbled because I can't seem to remember it very well.

That's all the info I have. I could try to look for it myself but I will only get confused unless I stumble upon an image that jogs my memory.

I remember it very vaguely so some of this might be inaccurate.

You got to choose to play as a different character each round from a repertoire of characters with different skills (e.g. there were ninjas, barbarians, etc). The object of the game was to infiltrate enemy lines each round and kill every member of the opposing army. I am pretty sure it had a cooperative play mode where you and a friend could do this together.

Well, I doubt I'll get any help, but I can't remember the title of this game from my childhood. I think it was around the '97 or something.

The colorscheme consisted mainly of browns, I believe I only played the shareware version.

It was top-down view, but I can't remember if it was isometric.

The story: you are a sort of an agent infiltrating a building to gather data, you have to cross rooms making sure to push certain switches to open doors and disable turretts. I can't remember if there were any "real" enemies, but there was a wide variety of turretts of which you had to learn the behaviour. There were probably floor tiles which killed you or triggered traps/turretts.

It basically was a kind of action puzzle-game, and I'm sad I can't remember the title. Everything I wrote is an approximation, my memory is hazy.

Mine is an old game on the PC, Windows, I believe, older than XP. I don't even know if it was on a disk, because if I recall correctly, it seemed like one of those games that came with the PC (Minesweeper, Pinball, etc).

It was a top down puzzle-ish game. You controlled a character and had to activate things to get to the end, I think. Maybe collecting keycards was involved? I dunno.

One thing that I remember pretty vividly was that when you died, the computer made a noise that sounded like "bummer" in a lowish voice.

Any leads?

Alright, let's give this another shot.

It's an old PC game where you traverse the seas and explore islands. Pic is all I can remember of it, and reverse image searching gives no results. The most distinct features are that you can shoot sea monsters to get food and you can look at ships' flags to see if they're pirates or not.

And here's the most important detail: It's not Sid Meier's Pirates. There are pirates, but all they do is steal your shit if they reach you. They're not the game's main focus.

Guarantee no one will be able to help me on this one. I've searched for years and I don't think it exist on the internet anywhere.

I bought this game for like a dollar in a dollar general store back in 2001. It played EXACTLY like Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. You start out on a grassy ground floor with a shop, and you go down all the way to floor 30 or 40 I think it was to beat the final boss. You level skills like Fire Magic/Fighting/Healing (like 18 skills) and pump stats as you go down. If you pumped certain stats you ended up being a special class, like a Fire Magic/Armor/Sword hero would be a Fire Knight and so on.

Now I know the name of the game, the problem is it's such a fucking basic name

"Hero"

You played it in DOS and it was my first Roguelike addiction when I was like 12 and got me into ADOM. I wish I could find it just for nostalgic purposes and share it with /rlg/.

It was an awesome as fuck roguelike and tbh it's rare as fuck if it does exist on the internet somewhere. Thanks for any help anons.

I've asked about this many times over the years and I never got an answer.
I played this around 10 years ago or more. I obtained a demo of it on a CD that you got with every Joker game magazine.
The game is a 3D stage based platformer in maps with no ceiling. I could only always play the first stage because it was a demo. You are a creature/robot thing and I'm not sure if its 1st or 3rd person. There would be lots of different enemies, like nurse looking robots and soldier looking robots and crab (lobster or some king of claw creature) robots and really fast ones. If you would kill these creatures you could absorb their body and become just like that, gaining of all their abilities and also the appearance I think.

I made a thread (even though I searched I must've used wrong parameters) asking about this.

I have a vague recollection of the game I'm looking for (the one I want a direct download of). It was a first-person point-and-click (like Myst, I think) and you had two companions, another person and a robot. The only thing I recall with any clarity is the final boss battle because I never beat it, because it went by way too fast: You basically play Risk against the Big Bad, and somehow him winning Risk allows him to take over. Also, I'm positive it had "XTREME" in the title.

>> No.1136368

I've asked about these games in every one of these threads I've seen, but I'm sure one day someone will know... Maybe.

The first is an RPG/Maybe Roguelike game where death is permanent, you start in your own house, limbs have their own health, and upon entering new zones you get a message that was something along the lines of 'You have entered _____. You are considered _____ here.', with the second being a reputation of sorts. I believe your character's head was visible at all times by the limbs, and he was bald. It was Freeware/shareware, and I most likely got it at download.com. A common suggestion given is IVAN, but I'm very familiar with IVAN, and it's not it.

The second, also from download.com, was called Silver Island. This is unique in that I know the name of the game, but can't find it anywhere. Seems to be one of those games that just disappeared from the internet altogether. If anyone had a link for that, my boner would be unstoppable.

The last game is another freeware/shareware game where you play a caveman, or some other form of early human. It was sidescrolling, and when you met other humans, you had options of what to say to them. From what I remember, most options ended in getting a spear to the face and dying, but I'd love to try it out again. I believe the game was named after the main character, and I distinctly remember the top option for talking to people being 'I am ____', and even that usually meant spears to the face.

Also, thank you to the person looking for Geneforge. After I read the description and the name was given, I downloaded it and I've been having a blast. Seems like an interesting story.

This one was a TBS game, very advance wars-like but older. Every faction was a colour and at the beginning of the game you could set what factions would play.
Graphics were very basic and units were flat outlines of what they represented (tanks, ships, planes, etc).
Maps were composed of square tiles (sea and land basically) and I don't remember if there were cities or not. I don't remember whether there was any AI or whether I just played by myself.
I also think that units blinked when selected. I have been thinking about this one a lot (it wasn't big production but I liked it).

It was slightly similar to FF Tactics as far as how you attack enemies up close.
When it was each of your character's turn, you'd see how many spaces your character could move.
At one point in the game (I think within like 3 hours of gametime) a vampire or werewolf looking thing joins your party. He was OP, that's what I most remember of that character.
I don't remember if it was just my monitor, but the majority of the game felt darker, brightness-wise, compared to other things.
I think the main character you start off with is either given the choice to be a white mage, or is forced to be a white mage. I remember not using him much for that reason.

Snes game

You plag as two dogs and can switch between them (I think it alos hadf 2 player where you could play as both at the same time?) one was a big white shepdog kind of thing and one was skinny.

The skinny one could spin his ears around his head and kind of float, the big one could (althogh I can't really remember at this point) do some other sort of special move I believe smashing blocks or killing the enimies or something.

Platformer. Definitely out before 1997, probably sometime around 1995

>> No.1139332

A text adventure on the MSX (and probably other computers), it started you off inside a virtual reality game near a house. When you got out of the virtual reality there were ~ 5 more virtual realities in alcoves around you.

But when you started exploring that 'real' world, you reach a big open space with a tiled floor the only identification of each location is a sequence of color-coded tiles. Otherwise the description text was identical. And then you stop playing.

No one has ever been able to help me with this one. It was an educational math game on one of those green and black screen Macs. At the start you had to pilot a side scrolling UFO through a meteor field and eventually get it. After this there were a few mini games, like solving maths problems to fix holes in the ship, and one involving lengthening a pendulum on a clock. And it's definitely not Math Blaster, came before that.

An alien themed game, I only remember it being quite creepy, you start off from some factory I think, I'm not sure if it's turn based combat.

I remember playing it on an emulator many years ago so I don't know what platform that game exactly is on. Could be a NES or SNES game.

A game for PC around windows 98, I can only vaguely remember it but it was a game where you were on a spaceship and played as different characters at the same time and you switched between them, the view was isometric and I only had the demo from a Computer Shopper disc and I can't seem to find an archive or anything of all the demos they've had. I also loosely remember controlling a robot who used a fire extinguisher, I presume the spaceship had crashed or something.

You could jump around in a very mode 7 heavy overworld

The movement was tile based, similar a roguelike where when you move, the enemies move. One major part of the game was that you killed enemies by tricking them into falling through pits or holes on the screen or something.
