Still the GOAT platformer

Great level design, good writing, actually funny, tons of unique weapons, challenging, replayable, great graphics and attention to detail (literally looks better than 2 and 3)

It was a great game, not sure if it could be considered the GOAT.

Loved this game as a kicd. Recently replayed the original triliogy and they held up. Is there any good way to play the future trilogy or should I just skip to Rift Apart?

Skip Rift Apart and play Tools of Destruction and ACiT. Can emulate them if PC is decent

Banjo-Kazooie is my favorite game but I acknowledge Ratchet is the better game. It's not even close

I liked its pre-alpha on ps1. You could even strafe.

It's a decent game... but it gets BTFO by the sequels.

You're blind.

Skip the latest game? Is it that bad? The reason I've been emulating the old games is soi I could build up to that one.

Everything post ps2 loses the charm that the og trilogy had, but gameplay wise they're more than serviceable. The only mainline game I'd skip is the ps4 remake

I just 100% the first 3 on the ps3 port. As a kid I loved deadlocked but now I couldn't get through it.

beat every game twice except the psp ones, rift apart, and a crack in time - which to me is the worst one
the pacing is just abysmal

Deadlocked > 2 > 3 > 1 > the rest all in the same place > a crack in time

I'm amazed nobody has recreated 2/3/Deadlocked's gunplay feel in some indie game yet - but i'm sure it's coming

I'm looking forward to trying Rift just because I have a deep connection with these games since I was a kiddo, but I don't have a rig good enough for that yet
Even if the atmosphere and writing shat their pants after the ps2 era
