If you used the slot manipulation trick, you didn't beat it

How is knowing how to play the game, skillfully, not beating it?

It’s called an exploit and it makes you the exact opposite of skilled, you retard.

I bet you think constantly pausing a game to beat a tough boss is a proof of "skill"

In Mercenary III, an open-ended, open-solar system exploration/adventure game, one of the six main ways to literally beat the game is to manipulate a slot machine.

>> No.10959717

I love those times the slots are fixed and it's just the same one result no matter what. Just total "fuck you, that's why" as the slot spins and it's only a single option no matter what.

If you didn't finish FF7 on a 14" CRT within a month of release then you didn't REALLY play it. Sorry, but that's the harsh reality.

If you used anything from a guide, you didn't beat it.
At least in action games, even if you're told what to do, you still have to execute it yourself. But in an adventure game the execution doesn't matter, it's all about figuring out what to do.

I mean checking a guide because you're stuck because the game asks you to find one NPC or some shit to progress is fine, but I've noticed this tendency in RPG players from everywhere that consist in checking out guides to find out how to "break" the game or find out the toughest builds, before they even play. Yeah, if you do that, you didn't beat the game.

For instance using a guide to breed chocobos, getting KOTR, and spamming it in every fight thereafter. Did. Not. Beat. The. Game.

What is this cope? Either using a guide is beating it or it isn't. Sounds to me like with your own logic you haven't beaten a single action game. Hypocrites are always the most pathetic people

>> No.10960183

Having 4x cut and the ribbon really trivializes the arena battles, though at that point you're more than powerful enough to dispose of Sephiroth.

Yeah and you can double-up on them too in case one of the slots fucks you over and breaks your accessory or materia so it's nearly impossible for status effects to cause any problems.

I didnt bother since farming GP is boring and I was already way too powerful. Beat Sephiroth at around lvl 55ish blasting him with comet.
