What is the most obscure retro game secret you know? If you keep the wooden sword in Zelda 1 until you get the red ring in spectacle rock, then the wooden sword will become red wooden sword.

In Aria of Sorrow, the game tracks how much HP an enemy has left when using the Lightning Doll bullet soul.

If the last enemy you attacked has critically low HP, Soma will change his battle cry whilst using that soul.

The PC version of Resident Evil, and only the PC version, has an extra Beretta Clip. It's hidden in a dark corner of the Tyrant lab room, next to the entrance.

I think it may have been added as a clue that the Tyrant can actually be killed with about just a single Beretta Clip, and also it was one of the few bosses (with the Yawn 2nd encounter) which didn't have a possible "plan B" for the player in a pinch.

The original Windows 3.x version of Minesweeper has a built-in cheat. I wanna say it was XYZZY or something like that, but I don't remember. Anyways, it would make one single pixel in the corner of your screen(the entire screen, not just Minesweeper) be either white or black, depending on if your mouse was over a mine or not. It may or may not exist in later versions of Minesweeper.
In some revisions of Colonization, you can hit ESC when you are given a choice for your continental congress in order to re-roll the selection. In most versions you can also enable a cheat menu that will allow you to spawn the Expert Teacher that was cut from the final game, as well as a colony upgrade building that were also cut.
It's possible to put yourself in a situation in Final Fantasy 6 where you have no one left in your party, causing the game to soft-lock.
Near the beginning of Herc's Adventures is a way to get you and a player 2 a pig potion each, which you can quickly trade in for 10 of every weapon plus a full set of gyro's.

I know glitches to get an invisible board and bike in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details for these, especially the bike, so sorry if I get some bits wrong.

Invisible board:
Go to the Skate Ranch, then go out of bounds anywhere beyond the fence encircling the place. Then get off your board, and throw or drop it right before you're warped back into the level. If done right, you'll see your board under your feet when you respawn, but once you roll away, you'll leave the board behind.
This only works at the Skate Ranch because it uses a unique out of bounds warp, where you see the camera zoom out for a second or two before the warp (giving you a chance to throw the board), as opposed to the standard one used elsewhere in the game (and all the other TH games) where you're warped instantly.
Once you have the invisible board, you keep it until you get off your board, at which point the game realizes you don't really have one. You'll have to press the button to get a new, visible board again. Also, for some strange reason, you can't do Sticker Slaps or Wallplants with the invisible board.

Invisible bike:
This one can be done anywhere in the game, but is harder to pull off, and I seem to recall only works on PS2. You have to get into a manual, and tilt back so you'll bail, but right before you do, unplug the controller. Instead of bailing, you'll go into a loop of starting a new manual, tilting back, then starting another when you should bail. And each time you "bail", your bike will fall out from under you and bounce around a bit, as if you really did bail, while you keep doing manuals on an invisible bike. To actually ride around with it, you have the plug the controller back in right when a new manual starts (so you aren't tilted too far back and bail immediately), then land the manual. Now you can ride around however you like with the invisible bike, but next time you bail, you'll pick up a normal, visible bike.

A few more tidbits about THAW:
- The levels, skaters, and concept art exclusive to the PS2-only Collector's Edition are present in the files of the standard PS2 version, and even the other console versions. Not sure if it's this easy on the other consoles, but on PS2 all it takes is a GameShark/etc code and the game acts just like the Collector's Edition. The only thing missing from the files is the Making Of FMV.
- In Hollywood, if you go to the Hollywood sign area, get right up against the fence, and throw your board through the fence, for some reason sometimes the game will give you an out of bounds respawn a few times in a row.
- In East L.A. in Story Mode, if you graffiti tag the triangular signboard up against the wall of the police station building and near the stairs to the train, then take the tunnel to Downtown, you'll see floating graffiti in the shape of that signboard above the slope near the tunnel exit.
- In Downtown, if you grind the rail on the top of the fence blocking off the grassy out of bounds area with the dog, then press R2 (or equivalent) to drop off of the rail, the warp won't trigger, and you can skate around in that small area, but as soon as you jump, the warp will trigger.
Again, haven't played THAW in a while so I'm fuzzy on the details. I know a lot of other stupid tidbits like this, and would probably remember even more next time I play, but those are the most interesting (or least uninteresting) ones I can remember.

Phantasy Star 3 has an item that will warp you to the entrance of the last dungeon you entered or something similar. You can get this item in the very first area, and use it when you get captured and put in jail. The devs anticipated this, and will have the important NPC tell you to start over again and play properly. Which is neat, that they clearly playtested and saw that flaw and made a fix for it.
The interesting bit is that the 2nd third of the game can be completely skipped by using this item as soon as you start that part of the game. The pointer will still point to the last dungeon of the previous generation, which is easily cleared now, then you fight the boss of the previous generation again. After that, you get the choice for the current generation, and then get sent to the final third of the game. Making the wrong choice will soft-lock you later, but it's very possible to beat PS3 without playing much of the middle of the game.
So the devs knew right off the bat the item could be used to sequence break, but failed to catch the most serious problem it could cause.

"Pakku" is basically the Japanese onomatopoeia for "gulp" or "gobble". Made sense for the toy, since it was a little bank that ate money.
Tomy rendered "Pakkuman" in Japanese on their original toys, while Namco specifically rendered it in English as "Puck-Man" at first, then switched it "Pac-Man". In fact, it looks like Tomy started using "Puck Man" for it's toys once the video game came out.
