Damn retro bros these prices are ridiculous

>> No.10944136

It was a different time really. Also PS1 original games were almost non-existant where I lived, all bootlegs.

the price gap between N64 and PS1 games was ridiculous

Adjust for inflation, please.

>> No.10944146

>>10944141
Doom 64 would be $153 today. Keep in mind that the late 90s had a booming economy and 1% inflation.

Inflation doesn't "work" for luxury items.

>> No.10944160

>>10944152
Well it does, it allows us to understand the equivalent today would be putting down 150usd for an N64 game. We're not measuring the specific rate of inflation for N64 games, we can't. We use the index to give us a general view.

>> No.10944291

>>10944134
You think you are so fucking funny? We aint paying your Ebay Inflated prices and we are not paying more then 50$ for a new modern game.

>> No.10944380

>>10944291
they're all free THOUGH

>> No.10944383

Scale of economics. N64 games were using 16, 32, 64MB ROMs and little else needed a mask ROM of that size so Nintendo's suppliers charged them a lot for those chips which got passed on to the consumer.

>> No.10944390

>>10944383
stuff wasn't particularly cheaper in the 8/16 bit eras. all the way back in the Atari era when they had 4/6/16k ROMs they cost a lot.

I get that it was a discount sale but lol those MD/SNES games are awful. Maybe Animaniacs would be ok although I always hated the cartoon.

>y does a Toys'R'Us discount sale not have my favorite obscure SFC jarpig that nobody could have read anyway because it was in moonrunes
fuck off

>>10944134
there's maybe 3 good games in that picture, what a fucking joke of a selection

>the snes games
lmfao

>animaniacs on sega genesis
was this good? im genuinely curious

>> No.10944443

>>10944439
It's Konami but their MD games always felt kind of half-assed and below the standard of their SNES ones.

I count fourteen good games.

Not a great masterpiece but would have made a good weekend rental.

I miss those "ONLY ON [system]" tags that game covers used to have.

Oldfag here. I knew guys who used to import SFC games back in the 90s. We couldn't read many of them so you just kind of clicked on everything until something happened.

Ah man, did you have to use one of the convertors that bypassed the region lock? Wild days
