Objectively it's Dixie/Kiddy.
Diddy/Dixie lack the heavy and DK just sucks to play as in DKC1.

Remember, Kiddy was originally supposed to be Dixie's son, not cousin. The DKC trilogy is really about Diddy coming out of the shadow of DK (originally intended as his father), finding love, and starting a family. You better believe Diddy and Dixie had hardcore jungle sex after surviving DKC2. This based story of the circle of life unfortunately censored got and Dixie was demoted from mother to babysitter.

Diddy/Dixie obviously, the heavy character isn't very fun to play as in 1 or 3. DK/Diddy is the coolest pairing regardless though.
