What happens when a magazine publisher and the geniuses at Bits Laboratory get together? One of the worst NES games, but we got the cleaned-up edition with bug fixes. The Famicom version is worse than that even. It's so fun being on a time limit to capture ghosts so when you run out of time you fail the mission and of course the pic related ending part which necessitates you climbing several flights of stairs by tapping A over and over and over (better get a turbo controller for this one).

If you do manage to beat the game and your head doesn't explode from hearing the Ghostbusters theme song looping over and over for an hour, your reward is staring at a black screen for two minutes as there's a bug that prevents the credits from being shown (fixed in the NES version). There's also a couple glitches in the buy equipment screen that were removed from the NES version, some of which can be used to your advantage. This is truly ultimate kusoge.

How were you even meant to get up that stairwell? I've never gotten past it because I can't help but get hit due to the ghosts moving erratically and needing to mash A while controlling three people in a line as one giant hitbox that needs to loop back in on itself to turn around.

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING

This game is really common, too. I'd always seen at least ten copies at any flea market or used game store.

His video for Ghostbusters mentioned that the original MSRP was $43. A bit cheaper than the norm for NES/FC games.

I imagine the high school students they paid to program this game over summer break didn't cost that much.

>Bits Laboratory
For a second I thought them and BITS Studios were the same thing, it's incredible how such a simple name can be so cursed.

I think they're both called Bits because they tear your sanity to bits.
