Look in your heart. Is it really THAT bad?

>> No.10916865

Bad? Maybe not, but it was certainly disappointing. I remember having high expectations for the t-rex transformation and all you do with it is roar to open doors.

Regardless of if it’s bad or not, it isn’t fun.

I would say the opposite. Its design is goddamn trash, I almost want to say it's objectively bad. But despite being terrible Terrydactyland is still a highlight of all my BT playthroughs cuz it's just fun to get lost in. Exploring this huge meandering dinosaur place is cool and tickles the imagination.....even if the shit you actually DO in Terrydactyland sucks ass. Even still at least some of it is neat.

Oh absolutely, bottom 3 levels across the franchise. Some of the gba levels were more interesting. Like, what does this have to offer beyond dinos? Hot cavemen ass? Fuck even Terry is a letdown.

I feel the potential solution for the 2 problems of

>can't make the level any smaller, or the T-Rex won't fit
>can't make the level any larger, or it'd be even more of a nightmare

could be solved by having a humungous chunk of land that's ONLY dedicated to the daddy T-Rex. Put a huge patch of land beyond the outer rim of the level that Banjo and Kazooie cannot access but where the daddy T-Rex has plenty of stuff to do and space to play around in.

This is the level that always makes me stop playing, returning the game to the shelf to never be touched for another 6 months.

I don't know, it was certainly very tedious and cluttered. In Banjo-Kazooie, most, (if not all) maps were quite easy to get a feel for once you had explored them. Terrydactyland, like a lot of the maps in Tooie, were just a clusterfuck were you never really knew where you were, which doesn't make for good collectathon gameplay.
I think Grunty Industries was probably the worst in this regard. I can't even try to visualize how that map is put together. It's just a series of rooms.

What's funny is the root word dino means "terrible".

Yeah but that's as in fearsome, not of low quality
