I don't think anything will top this. This forced me to look up a guide on how to make a single jump in a video game. That's nuts. I really doubt they expected it to be this difficult given how most things in this game don't function properly so it may not be fair to count this, but as is it's a bitch.
There was another jump earlier in the world where the jetpack guys may throw a shuriken at you while you're crossing a gap and that would instant kill you and it was just total luck whether that happened or not.

Whoops, that's just the first half. Here's the second half of the final level.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdOPy2J2tiw
And from the start to 10 minutes is the complete bullshit. At least every other example in this thread(except Adventure Island) involves solid platforms that don't move around. Final level of Skullmonkeys is all about moving platforms that are only around exactly long enough to make the jump and not a millisecond more. And if you got the activation order wrong, you would fall to your death as the needed platform suddenly vanishes before you can land on it.

You gain a lot of pixels if you did this way and I thought it was the only way to make it through these jumps (either use wall jump at the start, or at the destination which is harder).

These jumps heavily depend on the position of the boat on the Y axis when you jump though, which is why I spend a lot of time waiting in the video

Maybe the ones in Brain Lord. The majority of the individual jumps aren't hard, but there's just heaps of them and you're falling down holes so often that it gets a bit annoying because sometimes it sends you back pretty far. In picrel the floor is also moving which makes it even harder. Maybe like a quarter of the game is jumping over gaps and between moving floating platforms and stuff, there's heaps of it. Still a decent game though

This doesn't apply in TMNT though. The turtles swin in the dam level, before this sewer part.

The reason they get taken away is because the current is really strong here. Someone who knows how to swin will always get carried by strong current and likely drown, but I invite you to try it since apparently it's just video games which got it wrong.

Castlevania jumps are the easiest thing. You always jump the same distance, a little over 2 blocks long (so about 40 pixels), there is no movement or momentum to fuck up. That people fail at this baffles me. You only have one basic thing to learn, that 2 blocks long distance, if you die on the same jump more than once you seriously need to get good.

It displays its oldness in its shortness and simplicity, not in its level of quality. This isn't like say Mario where the first SMB feels like a stiff old antique compared to the third.
